"And see all of your payments and returns that have been issued..."

If you have a username and password for the canada revenue agency website you can log in and see all of your payments and returns that have been issued . You can also see other great information like when you will be receiving future payments and you can also update mailing info, contact info, direct deposit info and lots more :)

    Q. Inappropriately filing gst returns in ontario and fixing the error?

    Powered by
I build houses in toronto, ontario. due to an emergency i had to leave the country for almost 7 months; that covers just over 2 quarters. i had supervisors at my job sites and someone doing my accounting. unfortunately the gst returns were done inappropriately. how do i re-file the returns for previous periods? and inform the revenue agency of the error. is there a special form for this? and where can i find the form?

"The link below is the cra's page related to gst returns..."

The link below is the CRA's page related to GST returns. One of the links in the centre of the page is on correcting errors. That topic is mostly about what to do if your input tax credits have not been claimed properly (line 106). http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/gst-tps/bspsbch/rtrns/menu-eng.html If there's something else that need to be adjusted, contact the revenue agency and ask them what to do. Call 1-800-959-5525. If they can't fix the problem over the telephone, they'll tell you what to do.

    Q. Can i re-file my previous income tax statements after paying outstanding gst?

    Powered by
I have contacted by the cra to file gst/hst returns for most of the 2008 and all of the 2009 tax year. i was doing contracting work (professional income) and went over the threshold. once i pay the cra the money i owe them, can i re-file my income tax statements for the previous 2 years and potentially get some of the money back?

If I recall correctly you can always amend your reports. You just make note when you remit, clearly stating it is an amendment.

    Q. Can i still claim past year's gst refund?

    Powered by
I filed 4 years of tax return in april, i got my full refund in june. however, the amount i received did not include any gst refund. a couple days ago, i received my 2007 quarterly gst, when will i get my previous years' gst? will i be getting them at all?? thank you very much for all your help! -christine

"Not believe they will send out previous years rebate if your filing is after..."

I do not believe they will send out previous years rebate if your filing is after end of year. There may be some way to get it, but it will certainly not come automatically.

    Q. How does your income tax return work for previous years?

    Powered by
Hi, basically to keep this short and simple i finally recieved all of my t4 print off from (cra) and most of my rent reciepts (for a second time) i did this last year, i was (awaiting on rent reciepts from previous land lords) then a landlord through out all my belongings, anyways needless to say took another year to get all the information together again. i sent in all taxes from 2004-2009. i did them all on ufile.ca (i had to print them all off, and send in by paper since there previous, and i did 2009 by that way as well since the rest had to be processed first). i do not owe anything, i have a refund from all years, (not alot) but 200-400 a year. and plus gst from 2005-2009). not for 2004 as i wasnt 19 by then. i believe thats how it works. how will the refund work?? will i receive it all at once? along with gst credit?? will i receive all of the refunds or is there a limit of 3 years? this is the first time ive filed. (i thought i read something that said the limit doesnt start until you have first filed? *this is for ontario, canada* * i gave my bank information for direct deposit* on the first year 2004 thank you for your reply.

"Your returns will be assessed in order.your money..."

Short, no. Simple, yes. Refunds are given in Canada for 10 years ion income tax How will it work? Your returns will be assessed in order.Your money will be sent to you if they arrive at the same numbers. GST credit is processed separately.

    Q. Tax questions, including what could i expect for a tax return (canada)?

    Powered by
My status is as follows: total income nearing december 2008, is rounded off to: $10,050 (that's both jobs combined, mind you - i work two). my medical expenses, (dental fees and brace payments) after union reimbursement is about 1,2-$1,300 (deductions combined from both jobs, excluding unions dues) ei: $300.00 deducted cpp: $360 deducted union dues: $630.00 deducted income tax(1): $610.00 fed tax: $515.00 donations: $30.00 other medical expenses: $140.00 and addition of canada's work taxing credit. question 2-3. i also tried the taxtip calculator ( http://www.taxtips.ca/calculators/t axcalculator.htm ) but had trouble filling and figuring it out, as this is only my third year filing, i used h&r previous times, and haven't any tax experience. i earned just under $8,500 last year, claimed $1,200 in medical expenses and recieved just over $800.00 in my return, can i expect to attain the same with my status - if not more??) question 4. i also would like to ask, on the taxtip calculator, where is the option for federal tax, and income tax - are they the same thing? i notice on one of my paystubs it says income tax, the other federal tax..different things? cpp is that all around the same thing - a form of retirement? do they mean cpp in a general, as a whole - is cpp just the same deductions off all paychecks. for gst, if you say 'yes' and get the quarterly installments (i chose yes) what if you choose no? does it matter, will it benefit your return on the next years filing? or do you get nothing, and choose it if eligable? i am sorry i have so many questions, i am a novice in the extreme and would really appreciate feedback on any of my many questions stated. thank you for your time, :)

    "Check yes for the gst..."

Your best bet is to go to Quicktax.ca, which offers a free online filing system for incomes below $20,000. It has a really simple input that just asks you simple questions. Federal tax and income tax: same thing. You pay Federal and Provincial tax, but it will usually appear as just a single deduction on your pay stub (unless you are in Quebec...let's not go there) CPP is Canada pension PLan. Yes, retirement. It's not optional, and both you and your employer pay a portion of your wages into it. Check Yes for the GST. It's a silly box, actually. The only reason NOT to check it is if you are married (or common law) and your spouse is claiming it. If you do not qualify, you just don't get anything. You should qualify.

    Q. When will i get my notice of assessment from last year's taxes?

    Powered by
I sent in my 2007 taxes a few weeks ago and it shows up as received online, i am just wondering how long it will take to process (keeping in mind that it's last year's return in this years mail stream) so that i can get this year's done. i need my tuition carryover amounts to do this year's taxes. do previous years taxes go through any faster since they are different and therefore special? will i still get my 2007 gst (i am eligible for it)? thanks for any help - even if you are only able to answer some of my q. note: i am in ontario canada

Your 2007 return will take several weeks to process. It goes slower, not faster, since it has to be handled separately. Plan on sending in your 2008 return very close to the deadline, and you may need to do so without having the tuition carry over figures.

    Q. Conservatives, if perot was a spoiler, then why did clinton lead bush by double digits before perot's return?

    Powered by
To all people who say perot was why bush lost, why did bill clinton lead bush by double digits in the polls polling over 50 percent before perot came back to the race? http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpa ge.html?res=9e0ce2de143cf931a1575ac 0a964958260&sec=&spon=& partner=permalink&exprod=permal ink and bush was polling the exact same percent of the vote he actually received in that election, and when perot came back, http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpa ge.html?res=9e0ce5dc113df935a35753c 1a964958260 bush still had the same percentage he got in the final and in previous polls, so who did perot's support come from then? i hear the perot myth all the time from the right, even the left, but they never can prove it. even the pew research center shows my point, before the spin began. http://people-press.org/reports/pdf /19921026.pdf mike, since the right talks hypothetical about bush winning in perot's absence in the race if he had kept so, what is better to make a prediction on? facts as i show, or conservative claims based in a flawed assumption with no hard basis? reddog, nader was a spoiler against gore because all of his views were unabashedly far to the left of both candidates http://www.ontheissues.org/ralph_na der.htm ross perot was not "to the right" of bush like conservatives say. he was a liberal on abortion, gays, and more liberal than bush and clinton who both supported nafta http://www.ontheissues.org/ross_per ot.htm so perot is less likely a "spoiler" to any one candidate jcb what is your point? if you add perot's vote to clinton's vote, you get a far bigger majority. not to mention, never does a 3rd candidate take "all the votes" from one candidate. bush was behind clinton so bad he'd have needed 70 percent of perot's supporters to not stay home, then vote for him to tie. and due to the nature of 3rd party candidacies, that would have been almost impossible. bush's approval was as low as jimmy carter's. phil, i know while polls may not be hard evidence, they are still better evidence than right wing claims which have no basis in anything. if polls are meaningless, than so are weather forecasts. but they are not meaningless, they are better predictors than limbaugh, hannity, and rhodes just words. then also, phil, how do we know nader was a spoiler? if we go by issues, he was. if we look at perot's issues, lets see: he was against the deficit but pro abortion, pro gay and bush was weak on the deficit too, so perot was a moderate. only ideologues like nader are spoilers, so he was rossonero, prove it then!!! oh yea, you can't. you can't at least prove he took enough to swing the election, if he really did take more votes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hfg 0dvyy3m watch this video: he was not a spoiler for clinton, he was a spoiler in favor of bush. he was clearly railing against the gop and conservatism.

Polls are pretty much meaningless, especially national ones. We don't elect a President based on the popular vote, so to claim that is proof is silly. I'm not saing Perot did swing it and I don't really care, it was over and done with a long time ago. Democrats should be talking about Ralphy boy as he DID cost the Dems the election and could do the same this time around. Edit: We know because if you look at how many votes Nader got in Florida (100,000) and how many votes Gore lost by (537), there is no way Gore does not take enough votes to win Florida and the election. Same logic applies for national polls (in a way). It depends what states those votes are coming from. If they're coming from states that Bush lost by a small margin, it's reasonable to think that he was a spoiler. My point is, there's not enough evidence one way or the other to know if Perot was unless you look at what states his votes came in and how close those states were.
