ON Canada - better be prepared when they check than not. The banks would automatically renew your mortgage if they do not hear from you after they send the notice. Then it is just a matter of you signing the document. You loose your opportunity to negotiate on a better rate if this is allowed. If you do not take money from the property, it should be OK.
