Each of the major banks has a website with their rates. You can always Google Scotia or TD. Easyrate usually has them beat though. I have been keeping an eye on the market, rates are going up. Check here too, this site has the current bond interest rates. If bond rates go up mortgage rates go up so you can follow the trend! 5yr bond = 5yr fixed mortgage rates. http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/rates/bonds.html . Hope this helps!

Q. Currently a brothel in berlin is going green.?

Powered by
Berlin - stung by the economic crisis, a brothel in berlin has leapt on the "green" bandwagon and is offering discounts to clients who can prove they arrived by public transport or bicycle - with some success. "everyone's a winner," explained regina goetz, a former prostitute who runs the "maison d'envie" (house of desire) brothel in berlin's prenzlauer berg, a district in the former east berlin, which is a stronghold for the ecologist green party. "the environment is a topic on everyone's lips and it's pretty difficult to park around here. so we came up with the idea of an 'eco discount' of $7.40 to anyone who leaves the car at home," goetz told afp. "the crisis has slashed our turnover in half in the last year," the 56-year-old told afp over coffee and cakes, flanked by scantily clad prostitutes. but the green discounts have proved a roaring success and got business back on track, she said. to qualify for the discount, "clients who come by bike show their helmet or their padlock keys," she said. "others hand in their ticket or monthly pass if they have come on the bus." nice atmosphere the brothel itself is a model of discretion - only a small brass plaque advertising "the little sexy address" betrays the true purpose of the building, housed in a block with a bike shop, a burger bar and a pub. clients pass through a courtyard scattered with rubbish dumps, pushchairs, kids' bikes and buggies before arriving at a corridor where a doormat emblazoned with a red heart indicates the hoped-for destination. "we have a really nice atmosphere here, the neighbours are great," said one of the prostitutes, a pretty blonde in her 30s with short hair, sporting fishnet tights and sexy red lacy undies under her turquoise dressing-gown. she said she had already welcomed several customers on the eco tariff, like all her colleagues, about a dozen woman aged between 20 and 45, the majority of whom work part-time. one of them said she was a nurse secretly moonlighting as a prostitute. another said she was a dietary counsellor in a gym - "but times are hard". a third said she was a housewife. as for the clients, they come in all shapes and sizes, from all social classes and all ages, right up to the "doyen", who is 86 years old, said goetz. all the employees of the "maison d'envie" wholeheartedly approve of the eco tariff. "regina is full of good ideas," said one. the establishment also offers special "weekend rates" with jacuzzi options and a "two-for-one" rate. for goetz, the brothel is "a business like any other" and prostitution is a legal sector in germany with around 400 000 employees. "in these tight times, we are cutting costs. we've binned the tax advisor, reduced the hours of the cleaning lady and i only buy low-cost cleaning products," she said. and like any other head of industry, she is careful to appear bullish on the sector's prospects. "in a business like ours, there are always ups and downs. but we want the recovery to come quickly. i check the stock market prices every day," she revealed.

love the girl who said she's a dietary counsellor at a gym, doing prostitution on the side because "times are hard" lol please god give the Germans a sense of irony for Xmas...

Q. Can you check my grammar on this essay also?

Powered by
College students are faced with very important decisions throughout their college careers. there are constantly letters in the mail from credit card companies urging them to obtain credit today for a “better” tomorrow. credit card companies target college students because they typically spend a lot, whether its supplies needed for college or other luxuries. whether one is pursuing studies in veterinary sciences, business, or liberal arts, all students have one thing in common; we must learn how to manage our money in a financially responsible way. this can be done by keeping a personal budget; a simple task, yet the results of budgeting can have a great effect on our future. credit cards may seem like a smart choice, but they can actually cost more than you think! sometimes students may get carried away with buying, but that situation is easily avoidable with self-control. avoiding debt while in college can result in a better financial future. keeping a budget can benefit you in many ways. budgets show where money is being earned and where it is being spent. this makes it easier to see which areas need improvement. to make a simple budget for one month’s time period, start by first writing down how much is spent in the entire month and where it is spent. next, find out exactly how much money is earned within a month. subtract the expenditures from the earnings and if the remainder is a positive number, positive cash-flow is presented. having positive cash-flow means that “extra” money is left over due to less spending and more earnings. less spending is what must be done if a negative number remains. not only does keeping a budget help avoid debt, but it also assists in creating wealth by managing savings for retirement. a simple budget plan of a month is just a small example, yet it is the first step to proper money management. if a budget is planned ten to sixty years into the future, it can be used as a unique tool for creating a very wealthy retirement or even a young retirement. budgeting is also a good thing just in case emergencies happen, like a flat tire or an unexpected bill at the end of the month (“business week online”). unexpected emergencies are typically paid on credit these days, but what people should understand is that they may actually be paying more money by using a credit card. credit cards can be more of a hassle than you think. there are over 1 billion cards in circulation today. the typical american carries a $5,800 balance on his/her credit card each month, paying 18.3% interest. this calculates to $929.70 a year in interest alone, which is more profit for the credit card companies, and more money out of people’s pockets (“business week online”). credit card company’s often hook a consumer by offering little or no interest rate; a “teaser rate”. what most consumers do not see in the fine print of a credit card contract is that these little or 0% interest rates change to a higher rate usually within the following year. other charges made by credit card companies usually are not discovered until a bill arrives. these hidden charges can include application and processing fees, late payment fees, transaction fees and over the limit fees (“the hidden costs of credit cards”). the problem with credit cards is that it can be very easy to forget where and how much is being spent. it would be wise to keep track of all expenditures by holding receipts and planning them into a budget to avoid any unexpected charges at the end of the month. but most of all, when purchasing anything, credit or cash, we must avoid impulse purchases. have you ever gone into a store to buy a single product? you find the item you came in to buy and walk towards the register, but can’t help to notice the other things in the isle you “needed” also. you walked in the store for one thing and left with much more than intended; this is exactly what we must control. learn to differentiate between wants and needs, no matter how difficult it may be. to avoid this in a simple manner, write down precisely what will be bought before shopping, and estimate how much it will cost. only bring the estimated amount of cash and avoid bringing a credit card for “just in case” purposes because that “just in case” just might cost you. ultimately, budgeting finances can create a very wealthy, debt-free way of living. think twice before swiping or signing up for a credit card; it can and most likely will cost more in the long run. continue working on self control and budgeting in a financially responsible manner for the next few years and you will enjoy the many benefits self control and budgeting bring to your life. thats why the question asks about grammar. word doesn't do this too well, and i'm not the best at grammar. so i'm hoping for someone that is good at it will take the time to point out my common grammar errors, even if its brief. just enough to show me what i do wrong. peer editing rocks my socks. tula..i just went through my essay and what you corrected, and didn't see a thing changed.

Q. Grammar check my global warming essay please!?

Powered by
My essay is due tomorrow. the teacher says my argument and material is great, but because my grammar and sentence structure is so poor, i will not recieve a grade untill it is fixed. please help. thank you. while waiting in line at the local grocery store, i notice the clerk never asks “paper or plastic” anymore. of course not, its all about plastic these days. save the trees right? in the front of the check stand i notice cloth bags for sale that read “eco-friendly, support your world”. above the candy bars are last minute items like high priced light bulbs. the labels read “save your energy for a brighter future”. reducing your carbon foot print, it’s the new trend. why? because most of us agree we have a pollution problem. more importantly, a global warming problem. at least once a day i am reminded of this controversial environmental issue. global warming is a controversial issue because there is debate on what the true cause is. is the earth solely going through its natural process of heating and cooling? or are we contributing to the natural climate change process with our daily pollutants and inducing the rising temperatures? before examining the facts and deciding what the sole cause of global warming is, it is important to know how the whole process works. the earth goes through stages of heating and cooling every 100,000 years or so. the heating stage is caused by “the green house effect”. the idea is that the sun’s light sends down solar radiation which heats the earth’s surface. some of this energy returns to the atmosphere as infrared radiation “aka heat“, and some of this heat is trapped near the surface by carbon dioxide (co2) and other gases (lewis et al. 918). for the most part this is a good thing. greenhouse gases create a warm blanket around the earth and keep us warm and alive. without this blanket of co2 and other gasses, earth’s temperatures would be much lower. “oceans would be frozen to the bottom, and life as we know it would be impossible” (ehrlich 127). this “green house effect” is how earth naturally heats itself. ronald bailey, author of global warming and other eco-myths, goes into detail to describe why global warming is not human induced and most likely due to earth‘s natural heating process. he gives a “list” of eco-myths that he believes have been “debunked”. according to his book, there is no looming climate disaster. he agrees that we have caused an increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, but states that this will likely cause a very slow rise in global temperatures with which we can easily cope (2). like bailey there are a few others that still deny the human induced theory. they say that global warming is not a major environmental problem nor an environmental crisis and even think that the earth’s atmosphere has actually been in a state of “cooling” (ehrlich 140). anti-global warming spokesman fred singer argues in an interview by stephen goode that global warming just is not happening in any significant way and if it were, it would be good for us (easton 150). however, the majority of scientists have a different take on the issue. in the last 150 years, due to burning of fossil fuels, industrial processes, farming and deforestation, we have added to greenhouse gasses by releasing 280 billion tones of carbon into the atmosphere, with nearly half of it occurring in the last 25 years of the 20th century (nielsen 86). this is more than double the earths natural output. according to nasa’s website, in the last 650,000 years co2 levels in the atmosphere have never risen past 300 parts per million. in 1950 we broke that record and the levels have not dropped since. today co2 levels are higher than they have ever been. increasing at an alarming rate, today we are at 387 parts per million (u.s. nasa). when we add more co2 than is removed, we are causing a build up and therefore the temperatures rise. scientists started tracking global temperatures in 1898. coincidentally, average global temperatures have increased since the 1900’s, and even more drastically since 1980 (lewis et al. 919). in the past century scientists claim the earth’s surface, which is different then our daily temperatures, has warmed by only one degree. by 2050 average global temperatures are projected to rise another 2.5 degrees fahrenheit. this does not sound like a significant difference, until you consider that the earth’s surface during the last ice age was only seven degrees lower than today’s (ballantine and roberts 487). small variations can make a huge difference, and we do not know what all of those consequences might be if the earth’s surface increases by another two or three degrees. we do know that changes in temperature can alter populations, killing some organisms outright, stressing others and cause migrations (life 917). according to the u.s. department of commerce, the national climate data center states that in the last 15 years we have had 10 of the

so your first paragraph is a very creative way to open but there are a few sentences that are a bit akward. especially this part: "At least once a day I am reminded of this controversial environmental issue. Global warming is a controversial issue because there is debate on what the true cause is." and this part: "We do know that changes in temperature can alter populations, killing some organisms outright, stressing others and cause migrations " is that straight out of a book? because if it is you should quote it and if its not then you should change it to sound a bit more balanced. =]

Q. I have several questions.?

Powered by
I'm going to write a story. it's about 14-year-old hannah alexander who is raped in her sleep by a drunk guy named nick hudson in august. she becomes pregnant. she is going into her freshman year of high school, and she's already having major issues. she turns 15 on november 9. later on, in april, her mother, cassie alexander (whose husband died when hannah was 5) meets nick hudson online. they start dating, and when nick comes to their small apartment one day, he sees hannah's room and remembers it like a flashback from august. hannah notices his odd behavior and is suspicious from day one. he doesn't tell cassie or hannah that he was the one who got hannah pregnant, but tries to move on from the mistake he made those eight months ago. then, cassie asks nick to move in, and he accepts. he proposes to cassie on the night he moves in, and she also accepts. a couple weeks later, cassie becomes pregnant. although she's a few weeks early, hannah gives birth to michael on april 29. she and cassie want to do a dna check to see who the father is, and hannah has the suspicion that nick has something to do with it. cassie has been furious that anyone would do something so terrible to her daughter, and she'd been ranting about suing him for all he's got as soon as she tracks him down. you can imagine her shock when she learns that nick is in fact the father of her daughter's baby. once she gets home she swings her purse at his face repeatedly and then shouts at him to get out. he goes, and she fires his proposal ring out the door behind him, breaking the fake jewel into even smaller pieces. at the end of the story, cassie learns that she has hiv from nick, and she never forgives herself for being so stupid with him, but thanks god that hannah didn't get it. she and hannah keep the baby, although money is tight and space is little, because they couldn't bear to part with it. questions: 1. do you like the story? (rate on a scale of 1 - 10.) 2. does the baby cassie's going to have necessarily have hiv or is it just highly likely? 3. any ideas for a sequel? i want to make one having to do with cassie dying from hiv... 4. what should the story be called? 5. can you track the baby's father before birth, or is there a certain age? okay i got it! instead of in bed, she'll be awake, but it'll be dark and she won't see the guy's face. also, he'll have a hood or something.

1. Minus a few plot holes, 6 2. Cassie is pregnant? I thought Hannah was.. Anyhow. If Hannah didn't get HIV, then her baby won't have it. If Cassie is pregnant, then her baby might get HIV, and might not. 3. It takes a long time to die from HIV, usually. So it'd have to be pretty far along in the future. 4. I can't think of anything that's not disgustingly corny, sorry! 5. No, I don't believe so. And, you can't really "track" a father. You have to have DNA from the father to prove that he is the dad. So he'd have to take a swab or something. Why would they suspect and make him take a swab in the first place?

Q. Worried about my personal information?

Powered by
So today i went to the bank to deposit my check after work and i accidentally left my pay stub on one of the tables at the bank ,the ones where you fill out your deposit slips and such. i can't believe i did that! i didn't realize it till i got home that i left it there. i immediately called the bank and told them that i left my pay stub there but they said they didn't see it,and nobody had turned one in. but i swear i left it there,so somebody must have either taken it,or thrown it away in the trash. i really hope they just threw it away because i am freaking out now. it has my full name, last 4 digits of social security, employee id, and other information like my pay rate, etc which that im not too worried about. mainly im worried about my full name, last 4 digits of social, and employee id number. can people steal my identity or get my information, track me down from the last 4 digits of my social ?? please help!! what info can they get about me if they see my pay stub? please, im so worried and dont' know what to do!!

about all they can get from your stub is your name, address, your employee #, how many hours you worked and how much you made. they can't do anything with the last 4 of your social, i wouldn't worry if i were you.

Q. Why doesn't chase care about customers?

Powered by
I obtained a chase credit card about a year ago with a $5,000.00 credit limit an 0% introductory rate. i transferred a balance from my discover card to that card to save on interest rates and haven't increased the balance on the discover card, paying the minimum on the chase card and continuing to pay down the discover balance. i didn't have any issues with chase and when they opened a branch near my home, i decided to move my checking business to them. i have about $7.000.00 every month deposited into the checking account from salary and expense reimbursements through my employer, so they were on track to handle over $80,000.00 of my money in the course of a year. i received notice today that the credit limit on my chase card was being reduced from $5,000.00 to $4,200.00. my balance on the card is still below this and i have never been late on any of my payments to any of my creditors, so it's not an issue although the reduction will have a very minor impact on my debt to credit ratio. it had a much bigger impact on my views of chase and what they think of my business. i requested they reconsider this decision factoring in my checking account and they declined to reverse their decision. it's funny because yesterday, i received an offer from them for $100.00 if i opened a cd account. i had actually been considering refinancing my house through them as i didn't have an issue until now. now monday, i'm going to go down and open a checking account with a local bank and move all of my checking business to them. why would chase, or any bank for that matter, take such a dim view on their customers?

I think you are being a bit oversensitive. ALL banks are lowering credit limits and tightening up credit practices in preparation for new credit card legislation that is taking effect in January. In fact, I just got a notice from Bank of America today about how they are changing the credit card agreements to comply with the new regulations. Your situation is not special, Chase is not singling you out, in fact, this sounds like normal business in today's environment. I've had a few credit card limits trimmed back, too; and I have a FICO score of 817.

Q. What do you think of the new credit card laws to take effect?

Sure they may seem like a good thing...eliminating late fees, not allowing a spike in interest rates for being late, increasing the minimum payment so the balance gets paid off quicker, but there are repercussions. this may help people who are irresponsible, take on more debt than they can handle, don't read what they sign, don't keep track of their finances, but to the people who do it the right way it will likely hurt them. banks aren't going to just sit back and allow their profits to be eaten away like this. instead of late fees they will charge annual fees. since they will be restricted when and whom they can raise interest rates on, they will just raise them on everybody for no reason before the law takes affect. forcing customers to pay an increased minimum payment may be more than some can afford at the time and will drive them into bankruptcy (how ironic that will be) maybe they can only afford to pay $50 a month until they get out of college and get a better job, then they can pay it down more. who knows what each individual person's situation is, certainly not a mickey mouse bureaucrat in washington. i remember about 4 years ago when some financial regulatory agency in washington was just recommending that credit card companies increase their minimum payment requirements and people countered by saying, oh well this is only a recommendation, and i told them sooner rather than later the day would come when it would be mandated and what do you know, it happened. also, it will be harder to get a card in the first place. i say if adults are irresponsible enough to take on more debt than they can afford and businesses are dumb enough to lend it to them, let them both go down and let them live and learn and leave the government out of it, but i guess this is what people wanted they checked that little box that said "obama" 11 months ago. a liberal is what you voted for and a liberal is what you got. a do-gooder, and yes i do mean that in a negative way. you say why doing "good" isn't always so nice. sure, i read that part in the law that says this new law is "optional" the problem is, if i choose not to follow the government rules, i have to close my account altogether and not have a card at all and all future card holders don't have a choice and have to play by the government's new rules. check out the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091013 /ap_on_bi_ge/us_bank_of_america_ann ual_fees

The affect it would have is more money for the banks. It's not a good thing. They are taking advantage. I wouldn't close my account, just don't use the cards, unless of course there's an annual fee. Then I would in that case, close the account.
