    Q. Does a landlord have to give notice of selling the property in ontario?

We applied for an assignment due to ongoing issues with our rental unit. We are also being heard at the Rental Tribunal as part of the issues in the home. The other day the owner put the house up for sale. That is obviously going to make assigning the home that much more difficult for us......any direction on how we should proceed with this?

    Q. Please help!!!! renters rights in bc landlord was not my landlord!?

    Powered by
So my "landlord" who i have been renting or at lease writing checks too for the last 4 years tells me (she lives in the basement) that she sold the house but the new owners want to rent it to us. okay... so i say that's fine and a couple days later the property manager shows up to look at the house.. he seems very confused and i se him talking to my "landlord" on the lawn he phones me tonight and tells me that lindsay said we wanted to stay but we will have to apply to be a tenant because he didnt even know we were there.. they might not want to rent to us.. after talking to him for awhile i discover she never owned the house! she lied to me?! so were does that leave me? she is moving out on the 15 of june... do they he said he wont just kick us out but do they even legally have to give us notice? is this illegal and am i entitled to some kind of compensation from linsday? please help, im so worried i have somewhere to go as of september 1st but before that im screwed!

You had a place to live and nothing happened to you so you're not entitled to any compensation. In short, you were subletting from Lindsay whether or not the actual owner knew it or not. But considering the property manager didn't make a fuss and simply informed you that you could apply to be a tenant it means that they might consider letting you stay on on an official lease (assuming you qualify or can afford a security deposit etc). But if you paid a security deposit, you might want to make sure Lindsay gives that back. What she did is illegal if her lease with the owner/property manager disallows it. But if there's no such clause, she was legally entitled to rent it to you.

    Q. Immature or not?? opinions from men and women in their thirties ?

    Powered by
My ex and i split about 2 weeks ago. we are both in our thirties and we dated for about 4 months bc he was really rude to me at times. i gave him several chances, but i told him i didnt want to give him another bc i just felt like he was who he was and i was who i was. he had given me a lawnmower- push one for my grass. mine didnt work anymore and he said i could have it instead of buying another one. once we split i noticed it was missing from my storage area in back of my house. i called him to see if he had taken it or if it was stolen. he said i took it bc i didnt like the way you didnt give me another chance. he said he has issues but if i cared i would give him a chance and work things out. he said it was mine anyway , i just let you use it. he actually gave it to me, and i wouldnt be upset had he just asked for it back. he never called or asked for it, he just came over when he knew i was at work and took it. never telling me a word, i would never go on anyone's property and take something i lent or gave to them. i am just upset bc he knew i needed it and he took it just to spite me. i even told him if he would of called before coming, i would of offered him money for it although he really did give it to me. he said i wouldnt sell it to you. the thing is that he has so many lawnmowers bc he takes them from houses after he renters leave without paying and such. was he being rude, mean, and immature?

    "Don't sweat it..."

Well, it sucks that you needed it, but I always like getting rid of things of my ex's anyway, cuz frankly sometimes its bad energy to have parts of "them" around. they are no longer worth any reminders at that point anyway. Don't sweat it. Its over and he isn't worth your time.

He is being all of the above: rude, mean, immature and BIG BABY. He is just being a big baby and trying to trouble you because he did not get his way. Don't pay him any attention regarding lawn mower. Just buy a new one and that will make him feel that you don't need him. What so ever. He is trying to make YOU angry, so you'll be the one calling and talking to him.
