I work for an American auto finance company in late stage collections. Basicly with my company (which is a very major bank and lender) it depends on your account. I high balance accounts go into repo dept at 79 days past due (owing 3months going on to 4), low risk/balance accounts go into repo at 94 (3 days after you owe 4 pymnts) BUT and cant stress this enough, if you go close to repo to many times you CAN and will turn your low risk account into a high risk, even if you only owe 2,000.00 on your loan and are supposed to be paidoff in full next month this is when they can get the most out of acutioning your car! So make sure you are no more then 2 payments past due. And we can offer some tools to help you get current, you just need to make sure you talk and listen to what the agents have to tell you and maybe they can help if your willing!
