Normally when processing a loan, I get 2 latest paystubs to start the process. Prior to closing, the lender may require another 2 latest paystubs to verify your income. Also they would call the company representative who issued the letter to verify if you actually work there. My wife and mother-in-law both make pretty good salary where i know they will be approved for a house loan. they both have very good-excellant credit. my credit score is crap. anyways, the lender wants to see tax returns, pay stubs, etc...since the house will be under my wife and mother-in-laws name, will they only check there credit or will they also check mine? i am not going to the lender appt. in fear of them wanting to check mine. any insight on this?

The lender will only check the credit reports that apply for the mortgage loan. Each person applying for the mortgage loan will be required to sign an authorization form, indicating the lender can request credit reports, verify income, bank and savings accounts. u must QUICKLY determine if you have signed an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR'S agreement with him or not. IF not, you have problems. I am in grad school, graduate in may, and have a written job offer including salary that i will start in september. i know that here in arizona i need a pay stub as proof of income before i buy a house on the market. is that different if i want to buy a new home and where it won't close until after i start working? will the loan officer and builder go for that?

If the company is willing to buy a home for an employee, what kind of set up would one expect? my boyfriend has had a steady job with the same company for 13 years, and the president of the company (its a small company) is willing to help out by buying the house and taking the mortage payment out of his pay stub. is this a good idea or bad idea?

It can be good and bad. Because we don't have enough information, I would vote against doing this. If a company buys an employee's home, it is generally done through a relocation company. The relocation company has typically two appraisals done and if they are within 5% of one another, then an offer is made to the employee to buy the house after a period of time, if the house doesn't sell. So we would need to know if your husband company is willing to do a relocation package. What can happen then is all the expenses of moving that employee become taxable income. So you really want to make sure you understand all the ramifications of any offer. I've probably overwhelmed you, didn't mean too, but there is a lot of things to consider in such an offer. A financial advisor would be very helpful in this situation.
