    Q. Monthly expenses with homeownership?

    Powered by
I'm trying to figure out a budget on a new home (my first) and besides the mortgage i am trying to figure out what other expenses i need to budget for to know exactly what i can afford. i'm looking to buy in the greater toronto area on the west end, halton/peel region. i'm looking at 3 bedroom bungalows nothing too big ($350,000 +/-). i'm trying to figure out what average utilities/hydro would be per month also property tax and home owners insurance. i understand it all depends on alot of factors but would appreciate some input. thanks in advance

"Insurance and tax rates you will be paying..."

Often the utility company will tell you the average usage of a specific house. If you can suggest an address of a similar house to one you are considering to buy, they will give you the numbers you seek. Your banker could clue you in on the likely insurance and tax rates you will be paying

    This answer closely relates to:
    • Paying property tax monthly toronto
      • Calculate the equal monthly payments and the accumulated interest on a mortgage. the cash value of the house today is $500,000. you are paying monthly?
      • When do you start paying rates after you buy a house?

    Q. Queston about mortgage cost and total cost?

    Powered by
Hi, i am looking to buy a condo, (in toronto, canada) . i want to know that what will be total cost per month. if i buy a condo with $150000 with 10% down. i want to know what will be totol cost including monthly mortgage payment (average condo fee) property tax etc.. pls let me know what should i keep aside for the condo monthly payment thanks 10% down rate would be around 6%

That depends on what interest rate you get and how long you finance it for.

    Q. Can we afford this house? my mom is a single mom.lol.?

    Powered by
Hello,my parents are getting divorced in a yr or so. and me and my mom are finally looking for houses. we're moving to toronto. we're looking for a nice area. i found this really nice house in the heart of toronto. it costs 249,900.00 canadian dollars. which is actually a good price. considering we payed 430,000 dollars for the one were living in now. the thing is my mom is unemployed right now. shes trying to find a job that pays her at least 13 dollars. my older sister is moving in with us and she will help pay for the taxes. my father will be giving us at least 150,000 dollars or more. because we haven't fully payed the house were living in. the annual property cost is 1530.00. is it too much? lol, im only 14 so i don't know too much about these things. do you think we could be able to afford this house? oh and plus my dad has to give me and my little sister money from his monthly cheque. if you can give me websites on houses in toronto. that'd be great! :)

"Your dad's monthly payout can be used as income as well..."

Well if the 150K shes getting is going towards the house, theres a chance, however she'll have to get a job first to get a mortgage. If your sister is living there and works, her income can also be used to help get approved for the loan. ALSO, your dad's monthly payout can be used as income as well, so there's a good chance you all can make it happen! Good luck!

    This answer closely relates to:
    • Toronto monthly property taxes
      • What bank in ontario do you have a good chance of pre approval mortgage?
      • If we have been pre approved for a mortgage what are our chance of getting approved by cmhc?
