    Q. Would us speaker boehner gain more approval, if he legislated that all house members' salary be cut in half?

They should also stop taking money from PAC's and Lobbyists. It must be nice to be able to vote on your own raises. The only one I know that would vote for doing all of the above is Ron Paul.

    Q. Can we afford a 600k house on 200k salary?

    Powered by
We are currently at around 160k, but should be at 200k in about a year and a half. we can put around 10% down, possibly more. could we get a 600k now, and cut back on spending until we get to the 200k? (assume there is no risk of loss of income) thanks! last two years averaged around 150k, how much home could we afford with that?

"Formula called ratios to determine how much house you would be able to afford..."

You would not be able to get an answer here that would be of any real benefit to you. You should find a mortgage calculator on the internet and would have fun inserting numbers and different scenarios into this calculator. You may google mortgage calculator. You might, in some, instances, be able to save your information for further use. The mortgage industry use a formula called ratios to determine how much house you would be able to afford . This is done with our current debts on your credit report based on the amount you are required to pay each month and provable income for the past two years. For you interest rate your credit scores would play a large role as well as how you have paid your current debts on your credit report. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. Q. If i ask for a salary 25% below the going rate, will they hire me?

    Powered by
Suppose i have an engineering job interview, and i ask for a salary 25% below the usual average salary for that position. will the company be more likely to hire me rather than someone else? i would still be ahead of most other people who get the full salary, because i don't have a mortgage on my house. i paid cash for a foreclosed house for less than half of what a normal one would sell for.

"Matter how bad is the situation...set what salary that you want and go with..."

I wont Hire you at all , if you say you want to work 25% below the going rate. No matter how bad is the situation...Set what salary that you want and go with the market trend. Hope this help for Interview Tips and Techniques....Have a look at Get me a cool Job. Cheers mate

    Q. You have decided to move out of the house a year later. and how will you plan that?

    Powered by
You have decided to move out of the house a year later. and how will you plan that? here are the conditions ur already old enough - really old enough sort, not the ok i'm only 17 but i'm already old enough sort, you've guessed that the rent would most probably take up about half of your salary, and you've figured there may be some objections of ur moving out (but that's definitely not goin to stop ya)...so what will be the preparations?

"Month and a single was nearby for half as much..."

Hello, I am eighteen and know exactly what you're going through. First you need priorities. My priorities were security, economical, and being clean. My parents also had no objections of me moving out, so when I found an apartment they cosigned until I had enough credit. No matter what your priorities, these steps will surely help. First, prepare your resume, if you have no prior work experience you'll need to pretend that your high school experiences is your job experience. If you have no prior work experience and no grades that will dazzle your people. It's probably going to be a hard run for you. If you have a job, still prepare your resume. You never know what might happen. Second, you need to figure out the cost of living in the area you want to live in. Cities are normally high rent, coastal areas too. Those areas that are not high rent are usually bad company, shop around and see what the neighborhood looks like. If you're going to college then look for one close by. I was lucky enough to find an apartment for me and my boyfriend, two bedroom fully furnished kitchen two bath and a living space for 600 dollars a month and a single was nearby for half as much . You may not be as lucky depending on where you live. Third, if you live in a bad neighborhood, be bad. Although the apartments were nice, the reason they were so cheap (I live in a beach town) was because they were in the "bad" part of town. A lot of drug dealers and people hard on their luck would hang around the area at night and there were a lot of break in's. I splurged and bought a safe for my jewelry and my boyfriend bought a gun with blanks in it. We also kept the door locked at all times and had no "back ways" into our apartment. Fourth, look for things now. I went to garage sales and picked up furniture and things from the streets, for my birthday and Christmas I asked for pots and pans and things I would need to cook and clean and live in the new apartment, this was the most fun for me but you can't let yourself get carried away. There is only so much a person needs before things turn into "junk" Fifth, this may not apply to you, but it did for me, I communicated the need to my parents for space and talked to my landlord about money. We managed to get a little support from my family and the landlord who agreed to let us work for compensation of some of the rent(50 dollars per month). This helped the landlord out because he didn't have to hire someone to clean up the lawn take the trash out and sort the mail. It helped the residents because they didn't have to form one of those housing committee things. It also helped improve the value of the apartment building as when my boyfriend and I decided to move after out renting contract expired the rent went up one hundred dollars. It helps to have a roommate or people who'd like to room with you that you trust and know. Below I have included a source that I would use. I wish i could include a checklist but these things differ from person to person and most internet sources are at best, unreliable. Best of luck!

    Q. Half my salary each month goes to rent, can't afford cc payments; any advice?

    Powered by
I am divorced and started in debt from that point about 7 years ago. i have tried to survive on my own in a high housing cost city and it has just gotten worse. my student loan interest is capitalizing because i'm already on a low monthly payment for that (not in default though). i am at the point where i am having to charge groceries and gas and if it continues i won't be able to pay minimums on credit cards over time. i earn about $55,000 but because of where i live, half my monthly take home pay goes to my rent. i am trying to get rid of most of my possessions so the next time my lease ends, i can try to find a basement to live out of to cut housing costs. in the meantime, i am wondering if i should just declare bankruptcy. i can't afford to pay an attorney. would an attorney even talk to me? i am just not sure what i should do besides giving up, quitting my current job, and moving in with my parents and trying to find a job where they live. i also have a part-time job. thank you. i don't own a reliable car either so i can't move further out and still count on getting to work. i am trying to find a higher paying job and am just hanging on until my lease is up.

A friend of mine declared bankruptcy a few years ago, she borrowed the money from a friend to pay the attorney (that gives you a better chance for the court to allow you to claim it). Cut the 'unnecessary' bills -- cell phone, home phone, internet, cable if you haven't already. Talk to your parents and see what they are willing to help you out with.

    Q. How far can this salary get you?

    Powered by
What kind of lifestyle would you live with this salary? i know the government would tax like half of your salary away so how far would the rest go? could you afford a nice apt? a house? enough to buy lots of nice things? enough to have kids? enough to have shopping sprees? so if you made a salary of: 30,000 - 40,000 40,000 - 50,000 50,000 - 60,000 and so on and so forth

"Possibly small house if you qualify for certain mortgage programs 40-50,000 - a child..."

Under 40,000. - apartment, possibly small house if you qualify for certain mortgage programs 40-50,000 - a child, a small house with a good downpayment saved in advance, stay within budget - some occasional extra shopping 50 - 60,000. - kids and a modest house - budet allowing for some extra shopping, etc. you should shoot for the "and so on - and so forth" - the more you make, the more luxuries you can afford (obviously)

    Q. I love "flip this house". when the show is in california, a modest home is half a million.?

    Powered by
In my state, the same home might be worth $60,000. my question is, are the salaries in california so much higher than everyone elses, that a regular person can buy a half million dollar home? so are the mortgages for more than 30 years?

"A place at a rate which would buy you a nice new home in..."

EVERYTHING is more expensive out here. In the areas where you see these homes on TV Yes the salaries are way above the national average. There are however different parts of the state that depending on industry make up the salaries are more in line with the national average. This question is a major concern in the Bay area and the L.A area in that the "average" blue collar worker cannot afford a home at today's current market prices. So most of them rent a place at a rate which would buy you a nice new home in most places in the country. So stay in school and go to college and you can live anywhere you want...

    Q. Is it illegal to force your bookkeeper to report half employees's salary?

I work for an steel metal company and am being forced to put on records for hispanic employees half of there salaries in order for them to receive low income housing. my boss pays them the rest in cash. is this illegal? this is not my doing. when i question this practice, i'm told i do as i'm told. he has his spouse on a set income so she may qualify for free health insurance for her and there kids. the hispanics all receive food stamps, section 8 housing, medicaide etc. i am not doing this because i want to. i'm paying for all kinds of bills via credit cards. food, pool repairs, surgery etc. etc. etc.
