    Q. How much do you think gas will cost per gallon in 5 years?

    I am guessing about $6 a gallon.

I paid $3.25 here last night here in Florida. I think in 5 years we wont be using gas any more because people will get fed up and switch to electric cars and so on. We have many alternatives that we can switch too that are much more earth friendly and cheaper.

    Q. Gasonline 5 years from now?

Gas is already $3.57 a gallon where i live how much do you think the average gallon of gas is going to cost 5 years which is 2013?

i think we will be paying around 4 bucks a gallon for it at the cheapest, and when it does what its doing now going up or down,it will it well over 5 bucks a gallon, unless we find a way to get it lowered, there's no stopping the price of it ,its going to affect a lot of people, even the rich wont like it,but this has been happening for a long time, and we have to use it,we have no alternative right now,it wouldn't surprise me to see it hit 5 bucks a gallon on the holidays in 2013 at all,or more, most people don't want to face it, but ever since the 70,s in the first gas crunch it has slowly eased up,never returning back to what it was,and we accept it,just like we are now, complaining doesn't do any good so basically we the American people will either buy it or do without it,most people don't want to hear the truth, because it reminds them of what would happen if they couldn't drive or didn't have access to gas any more, but sooner than later we will all have to face ridiculous gas prices, good luck, you should get some good answers on this question, good luck.

    Q. Should i buy a home in the texas suburbs? cost of gas effecting home values?

    Powered by
My work may transfer me to galveston texas. i am looking at buying a home in the southern houston suburbs such as league city or even texas city. with the cost of gas increasing each year, will the value of homes in commuter suburbs like league city decline? i may have to transfer again 5 years down the road and don't want to sell for less than i purchased.

Look around and get the best deal you can. I think there are good HUD houses in League City, Dickinson, Friendswood and Texas City right now. I've sold many HUD houses in Texas over the years, and the deals are the best I've seen in my 15 yrs in the business. With the world's price of oil increasing, I think that the US will be refining and drilling more of our own in the near future - that bodes well for the prices around Houston, Galveston and Corpus. Buy now. Call me if you have questions.

    Q. Would a 60 gallon gas water heater cost $5 a month ($60 a year) less to run than a 20 gallon electric water?

    Powered by
I have a 20 gallon electric water heater now. it works fine and we don't have a problem with running out of hot water if we plan ahead. my brother is selling his 60 gallon gas water heater for cheap and we have a gas hook up in the basement for a water heater. we save $110 a year by shutting off the gas each spring when we are not using our only current gas appliance, the furnace. we have to pay $50 each fall for the gas company to come out and turn the gas back on. if we got the gas water heater it would be nice to be able to use all the hot water we wanted and not wait an hour after taking a shower for someone else to shower or to wash dishes.

Water heaters have a life between 5 and twenty years. You can get a new one for under $150, so first off, I question the logic of doing all the work of installing a used water heater. It is not worth it to me, because it will probably have to be replaced again in a few years anyway. A 60 gallon water heater is for a family of 5 or 6. and is overkill. Water heaters with large tanks do not save you money, they cost you more money, but letting you take longer showers... If you don't use more hot water, it is a wash. But you will. FYI: When you turn off a water heater for a season, it still has water in it, and can build up dangerous hydrogen gas inside, make sure the tank is full and and you run the water for a while to get any gas out before turning it back on.

    Q. How much does it cost to leave on the pilot light for a gas fireplace 24/7? i was told about $5.00 per year!!!

    Powered by
Is that possible?perhaps some heating specialist knows the approximate cost of the gas for such a situation. thanks!

That sounds low. In our area natural gas is cheaper than propane. I'd say $2 - $3 a month. In our camper we use a tank of propane for our hot water in about 5 weeks. If we turn off the pilot to conserve it last 7 weeks. We camp all summer and only use gas for hot water.
