    Q. How can i build my own house in bc?

    Powered by
I'm wondering if i can build my own house in bc canada. what are the steps i need to take before i can actually build it? how do i find out if the spot i chose can be used to build my house? i meant if i want to buy a peace of field and build a house. before i build the house, how do i get permition? can i build the house to be whatever i want? or if i found a place which is deep in the mountain and almost no one is living around me and no one is going to use it or no one care about that land, can i build a house there without buying the land?

Just do it, EH. If it is your property I would say go try to get an address. Or a permit.

    Q. How to cope with out of control step daughter?

    Powered by
My husband and i are at the end of our ropes at this point...my 17 year old step daughter has become uncontrollable. since we have been together(4 years or so)she has been caught stealing at walmart twice, has been an accomplice to a theft of a cell phone at school, had broken into a corner market which resulted in 3 felony charges(including giving a false name and resisting arrest)she has skipped school numerous times. she was under house arrest all last summer for breaking into the market and is under house arrest this summer for her second theft at walmart. when she was caught stealing the last time she was also in possession of pills. we took her self phone and started reading through some of her texts and found that she was never staying with the girl friend she told her dad she had been staying with...she had been staying with some guy. yesterday she asked me if she could go swimming at our community pool(which is within eye shot of our living room window) i told her yes(silly me i thought that she would actually behave). i kept seeing her towel on her chair but never saw her. my one and a half year old son was asleep in his crib so i couldn't go looking for her. i called her dad to go see if he could find her. after two hours she comes strolling up to the door with the attitude that we have no right to ask her where she was. she started screaming and walked to our apartments office building to try to call her aunt. in the meantime my husband follows her up there to bring her back home(the sheriffs dept was on there way at this point for her probation violation) and my step daughter starts screaming in front of all of the office staff "call my aunt to come and get me! he's crazy!" as a side note, my husband is also employed here. every time she does something wrong she lashes out at us saying that we don't love her and we don't buy her things. even though we do the best that we can for all of our kids. she goes everywhere we go. until she got picked up for stealing we paid her cell phone bill. but ended up taking the phone away to keep her away from her trashy friends. right now i am so mad at her for all of her lies and selfishness i don't even want to be in the same room with her. i feel bad but i am counting down the days until she is 18 and can move out on her own. my husband and i used to think that we could help her and guide her to a better way of living but we are wearing thin and about to give up. how to i cope with her...i know that she is 17 and a lot of the attitude is normal but she can be downright monstrous. she is also very "fake" so it is hard to tell when she is being truthful. as a side note-her mom is not present. she was deported to canada after many brushes with the law here in the u.s. even the most compassionate of my husbands family is fed up and says she is just like her mom. i would like to say that someone commented on the fact that i didn't say anything positive about my step daughter... she has taken away all of the positive things that i have ever said about her. it's not that i haven't tried to see her good qualities. and i have tried to develop a relationship and everytime that i think that we are getting closer, something like this happens. we have spent countless hours talking about boys and school and jobs...painting our nails and shopping and going out to eat...but it's kind of like have a best girlfriend that stabs you in the back. it hurts and makes you focus on the negative. it hasn't always been this way.

Poor girl....all she needs is love...i feel sorry that you are her stepmom.. you dont wish that one of kids(even if its your stepchild) hurrys up and turns 18 so you dont have to deal with her anymore. This is why i will never get a divorce b/c i dont want my child to have to go through what i went though and what your step daughter is going though shes the victim not you

    Q. If i buy this house would it be to much for me to handle?

    Powered by
Http://www.realtor.ca/propertydetai ls.aspx?propertyid=8735630 general description 4a//winnipeg/handyman special - 1 3/4 home completely gutted to studs and rafters - windows and doors are boarded up per city order avail from vendor. room sizes are approx. no services, furnace, hwt, toilets, sinks - bring flash lite and watch your step. foundation blueprints and building permit avail from vendor. exterior upgraded - shingles, vinyl siding, eaves troughs, windows, doors, elec meter & panel. new rear addition. parking spaces or garage space avail at rear lane. gst may be payable. sold as-is. i drove past it, looked around and its very big. the shell is nice, has a pretty big back yard too. i was thinking since its only 35grand that i could buy it and live in it while i fix it, are services expensive to install? i grew up fixing two of my dads houses, dry walls cheap, i know an electrician and a carpenter friend. i was told by a good friend of mine ( hes in his 40's with his family, pretty wealthy man ) that i should just get 2000 and buy a junker house and fix it up and sell it. but i'm going to make this house into a duplex that way my cash flow would be great, i want quality not quantity. this house is huge, for sure enough to make a duplex, even a triplex. the area is not so good, but okay to live in, i'll be doing most of the labour myself and living insid it to save money on rent. i'm 20 years old male, steady job, about 2000 dollars each month, i live in canada and the rent i'm paying right now is 500 dollars each month. what do you think? can anyone give me some advice here? should i buy a single family house? if i do buy a single family house the cheapest one in the market right now is a 2 bedroom beaten up house in a ok area for 30,000, if i buy a single family home it won't be worth much fixd up also. sorry if this is so long, i appreciate you taking the time to read it. this project may take me a full year to fix up. i'm not saying i'm buying this, but eventually i want to buy something like this

Unless you've taken on a project of this magnitude before or participated in a project of this size before, you can't begin to estimate just how much work and how much it will cost. For starters, you're going to have to get a furnace installed before it'll even be warm enough to work on it. When I had a mid-efficiency furnace put in it cost over $15,000. And that would be just step one, and not something you can likely do yourself. Can you really afford this on top of a mortgage? The place is boarded up because it's condemned - so you wouldn't even be able to live there for about a year as you get the floors put back in, running water, electricity, etc. So you're not saving any money on rent for a long time to come. I'd run the idea past your carpenter and electrician friend too. While people generally want to help their friends out, you'd be asking for months of labour from them which wouldn't be fair to expect them to take a significant pay cut for their services or work for free, so you won't be saving as much as you'd think. Calling it a "Handyman's special" is an exaggeration - this is a "Builder's Special". Find something that needs minor repairs and you'll have your hands full enough, but this is not a good first project for anyone who hasn't already participated in a complete gut and rebuild before.

    Q. Landlord trouble. house should probably be condemned. ?

    Powered by
K, my landlord won;t fix a thing. i've had it. my fuse box is from the 40s. i can't have my washer and dryer on and watch tv or the whole house looses power. it's going to start a fire with the sparking that happens when you change the one fuse running the whole place. i've told him this and he gave me more fuses!! told me to unplug things. i can't live properly with everything unplugged. 3 quarters of the windows don't open. some aren't even glass, it's fiberglass mono foamed into the frame. the tiles in the bathroom are falling apart and cracked to the point i'm cutting my feet if i step wrong. now, when i went downstairs to restart the dryer after the last power blowout there is boiling hot black goo coming out a drain down there. he's "fixed" it once before when it was just lukewarm water coming out. the bathroom wall that he's also "fixed" twice before is blue and falling apart in soggy chunks. this man owns a construction company and just built a brand new house. he knows what he's doing. it took 4 months for him to fix a really leaky faucet when i first moved in. i would move but i'm not in the financial place to come up with damage deposit on another place, also i'm not going to find a 3 bed house that allows kids/smoking/and pets for the amount i'm paying now. i was told i should get a hold of the fire marshall, but i don't know how to get ahold of him/her. i'm in canada. who to call to inspect this place? i had no idea about the power and the leaking when i moved in. it's not that it's the cheapest place, it allowed me to have my cat and a backyard for my kids. when i did bring the issues i have slowly been finding out he refuses to do anything about it. when i looked at the place i didn't plug everything in to test the power. who does that really? my question is basically what are my rights? the city i'm in is going through a major boom and houses are hard to come by.

And all of this changed AFTER you moved in? You should have been able to see these items when you decided to move there.

    Q. Could you help save my life, please?

    Powered by
I know this thing is really long so please bare with me. please! o and sorry for the melodrama8-) but really it'd be wonderful if you guys could help me with my life. im turning 15 soon and by the time i graduate highschool in 3 more yrs imm only going to be 17, im trying to find a job right now, no success, my marks suck but im trying to improve that, and my parents are leaving to go back to their home country as soon as im done hs and my older brother said after studying here(canada btw) for 3 yrs he'll be off to australia to study arts over there, but thats when im done hs. so in otherwords im gona be completely alone... so im choosing what i want to be now so i can work hard to be it, and i dont want to sound vain but i just want a job that will get me a lot of money [even thoo my brother says to do something i want but thats the thing im not really that passionate bout anything besides maybe witing] so ive set my mind to be a pharmasist, i like science and maybe when im settled, on the side a writer:). but how can i accomplish this, plz step by step instructions would be wonderful, like the courses i should take for gr. 11 and 12 and then exactly how i'd become a pharmasist o-o plzz i need a plan and i will follow it, if i have nobody, no place to live, no money, im gonna be lost but at least if i have a plan i'll have something to work for. could you also estimate how much a little appartment in toronto would be or mmaybe a basement(is that smart for a young girl to live in a house of strangers- my friend said it'd be cheaper than an apartment soo iunno i guess thats an idea?) umm and im assuming i wont have money, or a lot, cuz im gonna trying saving for school, and then i can worry about everything else later and my parents havent said if they'll give me money before they leave and i dont quite wana ask something like that, so i dont know how im gonna manage. fxck life, its already hard enough, only for it to get harder, man iunno if i can handle all this. o btw i dont blame my parents, my dad really misses the place and he wants me to be independent, its just he doesnt know all the problems i have already and its all building uo and thinking that lifes only gonna get harder just makes me scared and sorta tired, like how much more do i gotta suffer. lool k forget all that drama 8-) but plz help with my plans!please!

Don't be scared because as you get older you become better at coping with your fears and you look back and laugh you were even scared at all. Apts.,for rent can always be compared to the apts., for rent section in the newspaper. And talk to your science teacher or counselor on advice on best way to get started or best courses to start with.My sister was a lot like you and even fell in love with a man right after high school and got married but was soon killed by a drunk driver right after that along with her father in law!. So enjoy the time you have as you go along to sweetheart and 1 more thing...cheer up! good luck to you!

    Q. Why don't people care about the american car industry?

    Powered by
Everywhere i look, i keep hearing people talk about how the government should just let ford, gm, and chrysler die. my question is why would anyone ever wish for that to happen? i'm a big fan of capitalism, i adhere strongly to the belief that companies should be held accountable, however, in the situation of gm, ford, and chrysler, i honestly think the government needs to step in. the government needs to protect itself from foreign influences and it needs to protect its key core businesses from international takeover. we all know that the japanese government helps out its car industry like toyota, nissan, mitsubishi, they have very good government backing therefore they are very strong. for instance, you would never see a foreign company being allowed to buyout toyota motor company even if that hypothetical company could afford it, why? because the japanese government would never allow it, just like france would never allow boeing to buyout airbus. this lead to an unfair marketplace for the american auto industry. now, had our government stepped in and supported our auto industry, i think the industry as a whole would look so much different today. unfortunately it didn't and gm, ford, and chrysler were forced to focus on suv's because that's what sold during the 90's, and unlike toyota, gm, ford, and chrysler, did not have the deep pockets to fully support next-gen passenger car program as well as a money-making suv program. and as you know, money is necessary to maintain future operations, so gm was forced to devote most of its resources to making the cars people wanted to drive at the time. had the big 3 had government support/aid during the 90's perhaps we would have gotten a vehicle like the 2008 malibu and cts much earlier. however, if gm had decided to focus it's attention on the cars that it needed rather than the cars that people wanted, it would have quickly gone bankrupt. and right now as we speak rumors of bankruptcy are heard throughout the market place, as well as rumors of the end of the big 3. this would be one of the worst things to happen to the american economy during a good economic period. if it happens now in our current economic state, it will be disastrous. gm directly employes what, about 200,000+ (maybe less since all the recent layoffs) and i know ford and chrysler employ quite a few workers as well, but let's focus on gm. so if gm dies, that's 200,000 for the unemployment office. however, that number doesn't include those that will become jobless as the result of the domino effect a gm bankruptcy will have on other companies. gm has the most dealerships with it's many different brands, if these were all to suddenly close, we can add more people to the unemployment line. in addition to dealerships, many part manufacturers have gm as a primary customer ( think american axle, allison, eaton, delphi, bose, ac delco, etc), then there are those companies that contract with gm for vehicle delivery, etc. and as a result of this sudden unemployment, forclosure rates could go up at an unprecedented rate as those no unemployed can no longer afford to stay in their houses. a gm bankruptcy wouldn't just affect gm workers and gm fans, it would affect the jobs of a lot of people around the country. if you thought our current unemployment rate was high, a gm bankruptcy would make todays numbers look small. in fact, a gm bankruptcy wouldn't just affect american workers, but workers in canada, britain, china, india, all places where gm has factories. people blame gm and other companies for building factories in other countries and bringing those cars here, well, who can blame them? with uaw fighting for $25+per hour wages for high school educated people, i'd move my factory to a place where i can pay the people what they truly deserve to be payed rather than what some labor union tells them that they are entitled to be payed. the government really needs to step back and take a look at the bigger picture regarding the big 3. a decision regarding a "bailout" of the big 3 will either make the presidency of whoever wins in november, not to mention it may make or break the future of our country as an economic/world power. perhaps the old say really is true, "what's good for general motors, is good for america".

I've read only half of ur question..... But anyway, let me tell you what I think. GM killed the electric car! The electric was to become a success!! GM gives a sh*t 4 z environment! He's just concerned about making profits(just like any other company). So, why should I care for a company that had the opportunity to do something for the community, BUT did not do it!?!?!

    Q. Is this a good essay? any suggestions?

If you going to edit this for me, thank you. please don't be cruel!!!! for a country to achieve great success in a particular sector, it is of great importance for said country to invest in education, either in the private sector or the public sector, thereby producing knowledge workers. canada, including many other countries such as japan and india have adopted this strategy and utilizing it to their own advantage, have dominated many industries; some of which being gaming, robotics, and pharmaceuticals. it was only a few decades ago, when the gaming industry was first born. it was the birth of nintendo, sega, dreamcaste, etc. today the gaming industry has escalated into one of the biggest and wealthiest markets in the world. “according to idc(international data coporation), gaming was a 26.6 billion dollar worldwide industry in 2006 and it is only prospering.” this industry is now making more than hollywood annually, which was never seen possible. countries like canada specifically, have looked at this industry and saw it as a big asset, and so invested in it. canada has taken advantage of this opportunity and now has become the leader in gaming. how? canada didn’t just buy gaming companies from other countries and such, they went for a more logical and more beneficial route in the long run, and they invested in education, producing knowledge workers, who in the long run established their own gaming operations, which have become a global brand, such as montreal’s ubisoft. the canadian government have invested millions into gaming industries and education and in return receive 1000’s of jobs. “the government of ontario…managed to lure ubisoft with an investment of c$263 million ($227 million us) over 10 years to help set up the publisher's new digs. for its part, ubisoft will be spending more than half a billion dollars in the new development studio, which will create over 800 jobs.” ubisoft, a known global gaming brand, is looking to expand, “unveiling an ambitious six-year, $451-million expansion to its operations. the plan will see ubisoft's ranks in quebec swell from 1,600 employees to 3,000 by the end of 2013, with 500 of those new jobs earmarked for a recently created in-house animation studio.” not only are they expanding operations they are looking to produce movies, "we're going to take the next few years to learn how to make movies," said ubisoft montreal communications director cedric orvoine. the step taken by canadian gaming companies to become a global leader has helped the economy significantly, in the sense that it provides lots of jobs, and brings in lots of revenue and in these rough times canadian businesses need to step up, and do their part to help end the recession in canada. “the canadian gaming industry generates $14 billion in revenues a year and directly supports more than 50,000 jobs in canada.” not many canadians are aware that the gaming industry gives back to the canadian community, but in a pmg poll it is highlighted that the canadian gaming industry actually contributes $7 billion to governments and charities and invests about $75 million annually on responsible gaming research and treatment. these polls themselves justify how important these industries are to the canadian economy and to canada. we can all honestly say that canadian gaming industries ultimately give back more than how much we invest into them. today, we live in a new age, a society where technology is much more advanced than it has ever been. we no longer break are backs doing tasks that require hard labour; instead we have robots that perform tasks efficiently and conveniently. robotics, what is it? robotics is the engineering science and technology of robots, and their design, manufacture, application, and structural disposition. it has only been about a century since henry ford proposed and used the idea of an assembly line, where robots were used to build cars faster and better. from their, we have come to an age where we can produce robots that can walk, talk, and follow commands. “there are robots serving as receptionists, vacuuming office corridors, spoon-feeding the elderly. they serve tea, greet company guests and chatter away at public technology displays.” we have come here with the help of the japanese, who have invested billions of dollars in the education of knowledge workers and have funded many robotic projects, “in the past several years, the government has funded a plethora of robotics-related efforts, including some $42 million for the first phase of a humanoid robotics project, and $10 million a year between 2006 and 2010 to develop key robot technologies.” it is evident that japan is the most dominating country in robotics, which is due their commitment and dedication to this field. some ask why japan takes that much of a risk, investing billions in this field, and in order to answer that question you must look at the statistics; according to hiroko tabuchi of the associated

make a concluding statement. "In conclusion...." "Reviewing these arguments..." it's just basically a restatement of your thesis.

Lawmakers to spend big on border eric lipton new york times sept. 26, 2006 12:00 am washington - house and senate negotiators agreed monday evening to spend $1.2 billion to install hundreds of miles of fence and vehicle barriers along the mexican border as part of a $34.8 billion spending plan for the department of homeland security for the coming year. the border security spending is just one of several major policy initiatives that congressional leaders decided to insert into the annual appropriations bill. others include a mandate for anti-terrorism steps at high-risk chemical plants nationwide and the reorganization of the federal emergency management agency. the biggest increase in spending in the bill, on which the house and senate are expected to take final action on this week, is in the area of border security and immigration enforcement, which would get a total of $21.3 billion, an 11 percent jump over this year. advertisement this includes money to hire 1,500 new border patrol agents, increasing the force to 14,800, and to add 6,700 detention beds. the $1.2 billion for border security is designated for a traditional fence, vehicle barriers and a so-called virtual fence made up of cameras and sensors. that money could also be used to help build 700 miles of physical fence along a specific stretch of the mexican border, a construction project that the house has already approved and the senate is still considering. "it is a major step down the road on border security," said sen. judd gregg, r-n.h., who is chairman of the senate panel that oversees the budget bill. the bill also sets aside $4.34 billion for port security measures, including money for 450 new cargo inspection officers. that is up $600 million over the current year. the bill would also provide $178 million for new radiation screening equipment at domestic ports, among other initiatives. it's the second major border security development in a week. boeing co. engineers have crafted a plan to line the mexican border with 1,800 towers equipped with sensors that can spot when illegal immigrants step onto u.s. soil. infrared cameras will detect the body heat of intruders, and radar will track vehicles used to smuggle immigrants and drugs into the united states. on thursday, boeing's plan won a key contract, one that could lead to a "virtual fence" along 7,500 miles of the u.s.'s borders with mexico and canada. department of homeland security officials said thursday that the initial three-year contract was worth $67 million and called for boeing to build its tower-based system along a 28-mile stretch of the border south of tucson. but analysts said the project could be expanded and total more than $2.5 billion. democrats at the conference committee meeting monday evening also tried to add about $1 billion in spending for areas including mass transit security, aviation explosives detection research and port security grants. "i challenge all of us not only to talk the talk on port security but walk the walk," said sen. robert c. byrd, d-w.va., the minority leader of the appropriations panel, referring to the much-heralded recent action by congress on a port security bill that called for a larger amount of grants. but with the republicans holding a majority, each of the measures that democrats proposed were defeated, one after the other, in party-line votes. the federal emergency management agency will continue to exist under the agreement, though some members of congress had said it was so discredited it should be abolished and rebuilt from scratch. under the agreement, the fema director would have a higher rank, still reporting to the secretary of homeland security, but serving as the president's chief adviser on emergency management, in a manner similar to the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff at the pentagon. fema would also now oversee homeland security agencies that focus on preparing for a disaster, instead of just responding to them, and it would have an extra $30 million to hire up to 250 permanent disaster relief employees. congressional negotiators also added a measure to the bill that would allow americans to buy as much as a 90-day supply of prescription drugs in canada, where they are less expensive, and then return home with them.

    Q. What do you think of this intro to my vampire story im writing?

    Powered by
There it was the beginning of a new life together with my new step dad jack and my new step sisters rose who was still in my mothers arms who was cradling her to sleep and also marissa who was in jack's arms also and she was still awake her deep dark chocolate brown eyes scanning the room. as we got onto the plane i looked out the window and gazed at the palm tree's one last time before we took off. i then looked away and looked around the inside of the plane from my seat i sat back and had butterflies go around and around my stomach. as we started to land i took a deep breath and stretched in my seat, my mom looked at me looking worried that i would not get used to the new surroundings. i gazed up at her and sighed, “mom, its ok i will get used to it.” i smiled and looked down at my fingers and noticed that they were fidgeting. “oh sweetie,” she placed her arm around me and smiled worriedly, “i hope this helps and you don’t hate it since the last time we moved from florida to here.” she smiled and held my hand i took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a moment. as i opened them i noticed that we were now outside and getting ready to get into jack’s new car, the most weirdest thing was he actually named it. he called him, julian. we got in and i looked around at all of the passing houses. i looked around and saw a sign that read, “welcome to montreal.” i sat back and still felt butterflies. as we got too the house i gazed up at it, it had kind of tinted windows and the air kind of smelt like a hint of cottage cheese i squinted my nose at the smell. i looked at the layering of the roofing tile. the house was built with beige bricks. the door was wooden and once we entered the house i took a deep breath and thought, goodbye florida and hello montreal, canada.

Honestly... I recommend you scrap the first sentence completely. It's basically a list of needlessly expositional material, and that won't hold the reader's attention. Also recommendnd you add in the conversation around the father naming the car 'Julian'. My own family used to do this and I know it never passed without some kind of comment - this kind of family teasing can give you a chance to describe the relationships and members of the family without making an awkward list out of it. The action will keep your reader's attention too. You might want to follow up some of those sensory perceptions (I looked.... I smelled...) With some kind of thought or conclusion that ties them into the story.
