    Q. Should i go variable or fixed?

We went with a fixed rate to make sure the rate doesn`t change for the next 5 years. We like to know the exact amount per month to budget our year. We also planing to pay extra payments and a lum sum at the end of the year to pay off the principal faster. We would like to illuminate the mortgage as soon as we can and why we are young.

    Q. How much to swap out fixed cog and remove freewheel?

    Powered by
Give me your estimate as to how much a local bike store would charge to both remove a generic freewheel from one side, and to change out the fixed cog on the other side of my flip flop hub. thanks

All you need is a fixed gear lock ring wrench then you can change it anytime you want. http://www.modernbike.com/itemgroup.asp?igpk=2126178583&TID=367

    Q. Building a fixed gear from just a frame?

    Powered by
I found a vintage peugeout bike frame on craigslist that i really want to buy to convert to a fixed gear. my only question is, from just a frame, how much is it going to cost to buy everything else for the bike? it doesn't have wheels, handlebars, the cog, anything. anyone have any estimate? i'd really appreciate it. thanks! bike frame: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/ bik/1965685100.html

"Estimate e in pounds(£),track wheels which are..."

the rest of these guys are missing the point a bit,you didn't ask if it was worth doing, you asked how much it would cost???i can only give you an approx. estimate e in pounds(£),track wheels which are fixed gear start at around £100,handle bars at around £20 upwards but you may still have to use a quill stem, this will depend on the size diameter of the fork, you can see where this is going can't you.....................there are a lot of variables involved in what you are about to undertake but it is possible to do,there are some easy parts like brakes, levers £20 upwards, callipers £40 upwards,seat-post £15 and over, tyres from £8,tubes £5,cables for brakes as little as £2,saddles from £25 to ................wait for it..........£349,omg,lol,then there's the drive train, your crank,if you can get the bottom bracket sorted out, could set you back a good £70 plus, your chain around £20,pedals from £15,as your getting your head round all this you can see there is a lot to do............but it can be done,it may just take a bit of time but it's a really good project for you,i wish you luck and i hope this helps you along.
