Arrest warrants are valid until the day tha you are arrested. But statute of limitations would be a different questions as that would pertain to the charge

So while renting a house, we invited a friend to live with us.. when we informed her we were going to move, she decided to make an ad to rent out our house without us knowing! a few months later a police officer called me and said i was at fault for fraud because the house rental was under my name. they gave me 5 days to pay back this person or there would be a warrant for my arrest.. i wasnt employed so i had no money and the "friend" of ours took off, changed her number, etcc! however - the police officer did not call me back or send me a "served" paper.. so i am not even 100% if i have a warrant! now i am completely out of province or i would deal with it.. but im not.. so when i fly home and turn myself in -whats going to happen to me??? i have no criminal record, infact -i was in school taking law and crime scene investigation until this happened.. now i dont even know if i have a future in something i love! whats the easiest way i can see if i have a warrant without being arrested on the spot or spending money on online scams???

you could try calling the police department you think you have the warrant in. Hopefully you have the name and badge number of the "officer" that called you. You could call the PD that they claimed to be from... it could be fraudulent... If the rental ad was online I'm under the impression that online matters are under federal jurisdiction. I think you would be able to file a suit against your "friend" as well. I hope someone can clear this up better for you

Check to see if a warrant still exists for your case, if it does, settle the matter. I always think, worst scenario, like on vacation, new GF, get popped for warrant, rot in jail cell.
