    Q. If i haven t done my taxes in 4 years how much will hr block charge me?

"Do not go to h&r block..."

Do NOT Go to H&R Block. They are just slip entry. They take one class of tax (2 months tops) to learn slip entry. Go to a Real Accountant. A Real accountant will stand behind you (Figuratively) and if the government has questions, they will help. H&R block will charge you to help. Also, for you taxes. It Depends on the Complexity on what it will Cost. No one can give you an estimate unless we know what you have. lol

I haven't recieved a tax return for 3 years, how can i get it back? go to h&r block? i filed as self employed, i didn't recieve a letter to proove the amount requested.

"If you are saying that you have not filed a return for 3 years..."

What do you mean by you haven't received a tax return for 3 years? Did you file it? You need to check with the irs to make sure that they got it, call 1-800-829-1040. If you are saying that you have not filed a return for 3 years, you can either prepare it yourself by going to the irs website, www.irs.gov and downloading the forms you will need to file, find a local cpa/tax prep firm, or go to a chain one (H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt).

    Q. How long does it take liberty tax to send out an e-file return?

    Powered by
I did my taxes long before they were accepting returns this year. liberty tax put my info on hold til wed the 30th. its now saturday and i still haven't received a confirmation from the irs that they got my e-file. my coworkers who went thru hr block already got their conf on thurs. i thought you're supposed to get a response within 24-48hrs.

"By midnight of the day that the return was prepared..."

Under normal circumstances, most tax prep companies transmit their completed returns by midnight of the day that the return was prepared . It is quite possible that for some strange reason, your return was rejected. Why don't you call or visit the office that prepared your return and ask.

    Q. Do we have to give the economic stimulus money back on our taxes next year?

    Powered by
You know that $600 we're all going to get to stimulate the economy? one of my coworkers said that we are going to be required to pay that back on next year's taxes. she said that she was told this by h&r block. everyone else that i've talked to said that they haven't heard anything like that. anyone know for sure?

"Owe tax on your payment when you file your 2008 federal income tax return..."

This came from the Irs website: Q. Is my stimulus payment taxable? A. No. You will not owe tax on your payment when you file your 2008 federal income tax return . But you should keep a copy of the IRS letter you receive later this year listing the amount of your payment. Q. If my stimulus payment is not going to affect my 2008 tax refund or increase the tax I owe next year, why is it I need to retain the letter that lists how much I received? A. In the event you do not qualify for the full amount on your 2007 return but you do on your 2008 return, you will need to have the letter as a record of the amount you previously received. [New 4/11/08] Q. Will the payment I receive in 2008 reduce my 2008 refund or increase the amount I owe for 2008? A. No, the stimulus payment will not reduce your refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.

How much will my tax return be if im single and make 20k with overtime approx 2,5k? i am temporary residence in australia and how long the process until i receive the money?

"And submit to the ato declaring your income ect etc..."

Noone can answer your question because you haven't said how much tax has been withheld from your wages in the tax year, amongst other things. If too much has been withheld (based on your taxable income and the rates of tax applicable to you) then you may get a tax refund after lodging a tax return (the form you complete and submit to the ATO declaring your income ect etc ).. Note the critical difference between a tax refund and a tax return. Perhaps you should go to a cheap tax accountancy place like ITP or H & R Block in July, or as soon as you have received your PAYG Payment Summary, to have your tax return prepared and your questions answered.

    Q. How long does it take for a h&r tax refund to be direct deposited?

    Powered by
I went to h&r block and filed taxes on feb 1st. the irs accepted my return on feb 6th. when should i be receiving my refund? i'm supposed to be having it direct deposited into my bank account.

"That i filed early and paid the amount i did and people that just..."

Forever and a day it seems like!!! I did mine at H&R Block on 1/12 (They put it on hold till the 30th so they said) I Started checking the WMR site on 1/31 and nothing showed up so I finally called H&R Block on the 2nd to see if their was an issue. I was told there was no issue on their end just to wait the 21 days... So I checked one or two days later(2/3-2/4 not sure) and it finally said processing and its been there ever since. While others that filed later are getting their refunds after a lot of us that filed early in the year and still haven't received our refund because it got help up in some back log. I logged on to H&R Block last night and it said that the IRS didn't get my return till 2/5. So in reality its only been 5days. Im not very happy that I filed early and paid the amount I did and people that just filed a few days ago are already receiving their money. Just doest seem very fair to me. From everything I can see we should be receiving ours around the 18th if you were excepted on or around 2/5... some got DD dates of 2/28 so who knows at this point. The Government is gonna do what its gonna do, they have proven that already! Im also not sure I will use H&R Block again either! Not Very Trustworthy! Good luck Hope you get yours soon!

    Q. When is a realistic time to expect to see my tax return deposited?

    Powered by
I filed my taxes on 2/7/2013 knowing that, because i have a student credit, it wouldn't be accepted until 2/14 or 2/15. it has now been 25 days since the 15th and my status on the irs's "where's my refund?" page still says that it's processing and that a refund date will be provided when available. it has said this for at least 2 weeks now - before that, it was still on the first orange bar stating that it was accepted. i called an irs phone line today and the woman told me to allow them 2 weeks from the 21 day period to see my refund. i asked her if there was an error or if i'm supposed to be receiving a letter and she said no. i find it highly suspicious that i haven't received my refund yet while my friends who have similar tax situations have already received theirs. i really don't see why mine would be taking so long unless something has gone wrong. what's the possibility that they'll just keep tacking more time onto when i should be getting my refund? that seems to be the only thing they're doing. i've heard of people who wait over a year to get their refunds. how often does this happen? is this a realistic thing to expect? h & r block assures me there is no problem on their end and i've looked over my return information several times to see if i could spot any errors and i don't see anything amiss. the only unusual thing about my situation is that i live in another state while i'm at school (ny) but am a resident of pa. i work in both pa and ny depending on the time of year. ny doesn't do local taxes, whereas pa does. i have taken care of all of this. i received my pa refund right at the 21 day mark. are there any definitive reasons why this is taking so long, and why i'm being pushed behind students who claimed their student credit when it comes to getting my refund? organizationally, none of this makes sense. is there anyone i can contact to ask why it's taking so long? also, i was thinking of visiting one of the local irs tax offices to ask them wtf is going on. has anyone tried this? and have you had any results? or just more blather about things taking a little longer because you're a student? i'd really like some concrete reasons why this is taking so long. if this is going to take longer than the end of march, i would like for someone to tell me so i can be prepared. i have a huge mechanic's bill to pay, and there is no other way i can pay for it except for this tax return. i'm sorry this is so long but i feel it's important to give as much information as possible, especially after browsing other pages where people aren't specific about when they filed and what their situation is. and please don't give me any lectures about how i should never rely on tax return money or how i should have more taxes taken out throughout the year. you don't know my situation, so please don't act like you're being helpful by telling me what i should have done. this is my money, i should be getting it back in a timely manner, especially as this has never been a problem in the past. we're expected to give the irs what we owe them as soon as they demand it from us, so i don't know why we're expected to wait forever for them and are unable to demand it back. also, don't blame obama or congress. just address my questions. sorry there are so many and this is so long. thank you.

"Me there was nothing wrong with my return and that every tax payers situation..."

I submitted my federal return on 1/30/13 and received an email a few days later stating it wouldn't be accepted until 2/14/13 because of the education credits. For two weeks WMR said the return was being processed and just a few days ago it changed and I can no longer see the bars and it only displays a message stating "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." However, it's now 3/12/13 and the message hasn't changed. I called the IRS on my 21st day and they told me there was nothing wrong with my return and that every tax payers situation is different so while some filed after me and have already received their return it doesn't mean I will receive my return in the same time frame. The representative also told me the 21 days is not a guarantee and that there was no other information she could give me.In past years I've always received my return in less than two weeks and I filed the same way I always file. All of my friends and coworkers have already received their returns and they also had the education credit I'm EXTREMELY frustrated at this point and don't know what's going on but hopefully we will receive deposit dates soon! .

    Q. What is the cheapest website online do to my taxes on?

    Powered by
I have very simple taxes so i can do them myself. i used h&r blocks taxcut online last year but they raised the price up to $50 with state. i just dont see how that's worth it. i'm looking to do both my federal and state and i want the option to efile and get my refund put directly in my account. thanks ahead of time.

"$25.95 for state if you have simple taxes and can use form 1040ez..."

http://turbotax.intuit.com/ "free edition" You can do free federal and $25.95 for state if you have simple taxes and can use form 1040EZ . I've used them before and haven't had problems.

I filed taxes, and was supposed to get a tax return for paying too much, but since im self employed i have to proove it, and i didn;t recieve a letter to do so, and i haven't recieved a return in 3 yrs, although my accountant said i would, and calculated the amount too. can i go to h&r block or somewhere to help me get my return? or file for it somewhere? thanks.

"He/she is fully qualified to prepare your tax return...."

I think you need to go back to your accountant and ask what's going on. If your accountant is a CPA or an enrolled agent he/she is fully qualified to prepare your tax return.

    Q. Who do you hire for filing complicated taxes?

    Powered by
I will be filing some complicated tax forms for 2007. i probably can't just take them down to h&r block. i owned and sold a sizable amount of stocks & options (and lost a large amount of money), received an inheritance, and made a very modest amount of income. for 2006, i used turbo tax, but i'm not able to do that this year, because i need all the work & thinking done by a professional.

"So you'd need to file an extension..."

First, any professional who could help you for your 2007 returns is already booked up therough the 15th, so you'd need to file an extension. The professional you're looking for is an Enrolled Agent, preferably one specializing in your particular tax situation. CPAs may not have as much tax specialization, although one specializing in your specific situation would probably be adequate. If you upgrade Turbo Tax software (probably not TT online) to the appropriate level, (Business?), you can almost certainly use it to file your forms IF you can find the appropriate numbers to put on them. Turbo Tax also has an option for professional review (for about an additional $50). I'd offer to help you, but I cannot legally do so, being in California. California and Oregon regulate tax preparers, and I haven't kept up my registration.
