I work for the Government and If your local office is issuing you your cheque on the last day of the month, you need to report this to your local MP and submit an inquiry form (found at your local Ontario Works office). This is illegal! They must give you three business days before the end of the month, so that you may get your monthly affairs in order on time. They are not legally allowed to issue you an Ontario Works cheque any later than the 3rd last business day of the month. I also advise you to obtain a direct deposit form from your bank, and have your monthly allowance directly deposited into your account each month. This will ensure that you receive your allowance on time from now on.

"Out on the last day of the month..."

Once again this statement is incorrect. It is impossible for the OW cheques to come out on the last day of the month ! They must be issued three Business days before the end of the month. This would make it the 28th, not 30th! The cheques however are released this year on the 21st of Dec.

It is not incorrect as here in st.thomas,Ontario they will not be mailing out cheques until the last day of the month i know because i`m looking at the letter they send me with my december cheque and it say they will no longer issue cheques before the end of the month all cheques starting in 2012 will be mailed on the last day of the month

If you call the 1-800-808-2268 IVR number for OW & OSDP recipients, the outgoing recording says the cheques going out in January (benefit month Feb) will be "dated" January 31. I really think this is an impossible system to live with. And I have a lot of empathy for people who through no choice of their own, will have to struggle in it for years, and perhaps a lifetime. As Ontarians, and Canadians this inadequate and dehumanizing social program is our shame.

"And i still don`t see my deposited in my account..."

It is now 6:18 am, I`m living in Toronto, and I STILL don`t see my deposited in my account. I never got my payment on the 27th and was informed by the automated message about it being sent TODAY, the 31st. Shouldn`t it have been deposited by NOW?? They already effed up my week, last week!! This will PISS me off if I don`t get it today.
