    Q. Can a court appointed attorney place county lien on u then try to collect almost 9 yrs later??

    Powered by
This was from a court appointed attorney...they are now saying at its a county lien and there are no statute of limitations on that. it will remain until either debt is paid or the person dies....is this really true?? it was an application for crt appt, which was of coure granted but the judge never filled out the part of payment arrangements, that part was left blank, and the app said if i was able, why would they wait so long before setting this up for collections, they never once tried to contact me before it was an application for crt appt, which was of coure granted but the judge never filled out the part of payment arrangements, that part was left blank, and the app said if i was able, why would they wait so long before setting this up for collections, they never once tried to contact me before

Most likely yes. Almost all debt owed to government entities has no statute of limitations. In some locales, a lien may be placed on property, and the property seized for auction to pay the lien. You need to contact a local atty immediately.

    Q. Why aren't there laws protecting disabled spouses being abandon by their husband or wife?

    Powered by
I was diagnosed with a late stage cancer. i lost my job and my husband made enough money to take care of both of us. ssd said i didn't have enough credits to qualify for disability benefits which i do not understand as i have worked since i was a teen. this past year was the worst. i was in and out of the hospital. i had a major setback was in the hospital for a life threatening condition related to the cancer. after getting out of the hospital, my husband became abusive, then left me. he was like a mad man. i have since discovered he is with another woman and had been seeing her during the summer. i am married for over 30 years. he gives me little to no money and i have applied for any kind of aid i can get my hands on but so far have only been awarded food stamps which if i use will be put as a lien against our house. if i apply for welfare in the state i live and get it they will place a lien against my house for that too. i don't know how long it will be before i will be homeless because i cannot pay for utilities. i have an attorney. the courts are loaded with cases and it takes a long time to have a hearing to receive some type of action or relief. there should be a law to protect disabled spouses from abandonment by their spouses and there should be some type of immediate help for abandoned disabled wives or husbands so they do not end up homeless and without care while it can take up to a year for a reply from state and federal agencies. the person who does the abandoning should be held responsible for the care of the wife or husband they are leaving. they should not be able to throw someone away. if the person they leave dies or becomes critically ill because of their failure to provide for them they should be arrested for their negligence. if there is a law i would like to know about it. leaving a healthy person who has an income and is able to provide for themselves is one thing, but leaving someone who is physically unable to work, is unemployed and has no income, without taking any care for the welfare of that person should be a felony. all the republicans and tea party representatives scream about is cutting social services, spouses who abandon their husband or wife throw us on a system that is without compassion and according to the new congress will be cut if they have their way. we are in essence abandon twice once by our husband or wife and then by society. we should not suffer because our husband or wife refuses to be responsible. are we to end up on the curbside and sidewalks of america left to deteriorate until we die?

There is no such thing as putting a lien on your property for using food stamps or Medicaid! I don't know where you heard of this but it's incorrect. Only if you are on Medicaid do they put a lien on your property after death, if you still have the property and a nursing home or Assisted Living Facility was involved. There is no such lien for food stamps.

    Q. What can i do if i paid my mom in full for my car & she won't sign title over to me?

    Powered by
I'm sorry this is a little long but any advice would be appreciated very much. my mother bought me a 2007 pontiac g6 in october, 2007. she got the car from my brother in law's family who deals in used cars and this one was previously wrecked but they fixed it. she said she would pay for half of the car as a christmas present and the other half i could make payments to her and not be charged any interest on the loan. sounded great to me. i made my monthly payments and then in february of 2008 when i got my income tax check i just gave it all to her and paid the whole amount left. i trusted her but she never gave me a bill of sale or the title to the car. i have talked to her a couple of times about this because if i wanted to trade it in i can't because she has the title written with my name on it and her name as the lien holder. she told me that she didn't trust me and that i may go to title max and pawn my car title!!! i'm like wtf? that is my only set of wheels and i've been working at the same company since 1993 and have a 9 year old son. i would never do anything like that to risk losing my car. when i mentioned the fact that i could not trade the car in if i want to one day (which i don't plan on doing anytime soon because it's paid for) she told me she didn't buy me that car to trade in on a gas guzzling pick up truck. that's another issue. my father died in 2005 and i was driving his dodge dakota and she sold it for a little of nothing to my brother in law to make money off. now i do need a truck just to haul stuff in and she's remarried so her new husband has a truck. i would have bought it from her. it's real tough for me because me and my son was living with my mom & dad when i got a divorce and when he died me and my son found him. when she got married 2-1/2 years ago, she told us we could move into his town home and pay all the bills but they wouldn't let me pay any rent. they claimed the stock market causing the real estate to drop was the reason he didn't sell it but i have had to spend alot of money to fix that place up to be "livable" for me and my son because it was just nasty. he didn't even get his stuff out and she wanted me to hurry and move our stuff in.now, all the tools and things that my dad worked hard to get all his life belongs to my step father now. i had to borrow my dad's pressure wash the siding on the house which was moldy. i feel weird having to ask him to borrow my dads things. all he left as far as tools at his place was a hammer, screwdriver, some nails, tape measurer and an empty little tool box. weedeater is broke and after dad died my boss gave us a john deere weedeater and edger because i was doing all the yardwork and he felt sorry for us so now that belongs to my step dad i guess. i wondered where his tools were but he lucked up and moved into a quarter million dollar house that has a whole big basement full of tools and equipment that belonged to my father. when i got the pressure washer, he was telling me stuff like "don't break it...make sure you turn the water on before you crank it or it will blow up the motor" etc... i'm not that stupid. i'm starting to get scared that when i get that place looking real good on the outside, they may decide to sell it then we will be out in the street trying to find a cheap apartment. like i said i have tried talking to her about the title in a nice friendly manner and she always ends up getting defensive on me and totally refusing to give up the title. does anybody know what i can do? also, when a person dies in alabama and everything goes to the wife and they get married, am i right by saying that whatever is hers is his? she even gave hers and my fathers bed and dresser drawers that they always had as far as i can remember and i'm 38 to her husband's brother. i got stuck with step-dad's bed with a warped mattress just like the couch me and my friend tried to haul to goodwill and they wouldn't even take it so that i could put one i wanted in there. my ex husband kept most everything i had bought for his house so i'm having to start from new.

Something isn't right with the title and/or sale of the Pontiac. Car fax it the vin # and see what the story is. Your mother is a scammer.

    Q. Are realtors allowed to enter a tenant's apartment with owner's permission in texas?

    Powered by
My lease to my currently living apartment ends on 31st of july, 2011. it's reasonable that the landlord owner wants to get a new lease for next year, and i understand that. however, this owner found several realty companies and started showing our unit since last december. the realtors usually send a text message or leave a voice mail about 1

Normally, a landlord is required to give you 24 hours notice that he will be coming in (or having realtors come to assess); however, in your contract, it states that they may enter with "reasonable notice" and if they're leaving you a message a few hours before they come, most would find that reasonable. Unless the landlord has good reason to evict you though, you're living there until july, so it seems to be a bit early to be looking for a new tenant.

One thing that helps, if you are able to do it is to treat the different problems you have as completely separate issues. Right now, it looks like you are constantly adding them all up in your mind and that makes everything look like a big problem that is too big to handle. Do the opposite. Look at each thing as a separate problem, and then plan a way of dealing with it. If pills help - take them. You don't need to worry about taking pills your whole life - you won't need to make those decisions until later. Focus on your immediate problems and solve them for the day as best you can. Don't worry about tommorrow. If you have a headache, work with the doctor to find the best medicine for treating a headache and take it. The same for all the other pains.
