    Q. What happens if a lender refuses to renew my mortgage?

"On canada - the banks have just called..."

ON Canada - the banks have just called in your mortgage as due and you need to pay it. Normally, they give you a grace period to secure another mortgage with another lender to pay off the original mortgage. Why would they not renew your mortgage? email me at victor_catalan@centum.ca and we can see what we can do for you.

    This answer closely relates to:
    • Ex spouse refuses to work canada
      • When original mortgage company will not renew your mortgage?
      • What happens if my mortgage lender refuses to honor the mortgage after offering it?

    Q. How can my american wife come live with me in canada legally after she has our baby in 2 months?

    Powered by
Hey. ok, so here's the story. my wife is american and i am canadian. my wife had to return to the states to have our baby (it's due in 2 months) and i had to stay here for important appointments regarding me going back to school via a couple ontario schooling programs, and we were wondering if she would be able to come live with me in canada and what we need to do so she can come live with me here, legally. because i can't legally work out there and we'd prefer it if she came here because i'm starting some schooling programs come september (just after the birth). right now i'm on e.i. and unemployed at the moment, but i'll have part time work when i'm going to school. and another thing, could the border police refuse her entry to canada even though she's my wife? please help me out with information. any would be greatly appreciated. :) thanx. ^_^

"A job to sponsor his wife to canada..."

OK, for everybody who thinks that he needs to have a job to sponsor his wife to Canada , you are wrong. He does not need to have a job and he's ok to be on EI. He just can't be on welfare. Canada exempts people from showing income when they are sponsoring spouse or kids but does require it if you are sponsoring your parents or other relatives. It is unlikely that your wife will be denied entry to visit you unless she shows up at the border with all her worldly possessions in a U-haul. However, there is no future in her staying in Canada on a visit visa. Better apply for her immigration. You can find your forms at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp These are the forms for an outland application, that is to say your wife lives in the US. There is a huge difference on how these applications are handled. If you do an outland application, she can come visit you and stay with you, she can go back and visit the US, the file will be processed in the US and she will have her Canadian permanent residency in 6 months or so. If you file inland, that is to say you pick the forms for wife living in Canada with you, it will take 1-2 years minimum, sometimes longer and since she would not be advised to travel, she'd be stuck in Canada the whole time.

    This answer closely relates to:
    • My ex wife refuses to get a job
      • How much income required if staying for 3 months visit canada?
      • Do you have to include your wife in a mortgage application in canada?
    • My wife refuses to work
      • I am seperated from my wife can i get a home in california with out my wife information?
      • Can a person of welfare sponsor his wife to canada?
    • Ex wife refuses to work
      • I need to file 3 years back taxes for alberta canada can i get the forms myself?
      • My wife and i separated in december, the company forms were filled out and she was removed from the policy according to their standards, she is now lo?

    Q. Pregnant and needs to quit under duress?

    Powered by
Old boss passed away april 12. wife took over company. is trying to sell. she has been derogatory towards fellow employee and myself. calling us names ie goddamn kids, heartless, etc. recently brought us a confidentiality agreement to sign after she yelled at us and accused me of the company's current financial situation (i'm administrator). i refused to sign unless my lawyer okay'd the document first. she refused to give me my last month's pay due to not signing. no time limit was given. i work at a non-unionized office and have been there for 3.5+ years. i am also 6 months pregnant. i can't work there another day, what can i do immediately? i work in ontario

"You your one month of worked hours pay..."

Kelly I am sure you have a wage and hours wing of government. They will intercede just because she did not give you your one month of worked hours pay . Then there is always the attorney route to go... I would never advise anyone to quit being owed money, or without proper notice. Socccerref

    Q. Help with labour laws? (ontario)?

    Powered by
This guy was a d!ck and i want to get him in as much trouble as i can. so far i have four offenses against him according to http://www.elaws.gov.on.ca/html/sta tutes/english/elaws_statutes_00e41_ e.htm#bk15. he will not pay me. it has been seven days since i was fired and payday was today. i went into the workplace (subway) and asked for the check. he wasn't there so i talked to his wife whom said my check was not there, but everyone else's was. i called him later when he was day and he told me payday was monday, i tried to explain to him that i knew what day payday was and i was already in the store an hour earlier. he hung up on me. i called him two more times and he hung up on me each time. he refused to train me and i wasn't allowed to ask questions, so he fired me on the spot for not doing my job right. i had worked four shifts, one of which was a nine hour shift, and he doesn't give out breaks. i told him i will be in tomorrow to collect my pay check or i'm going to the labour board, i hope he doesn't have it so i can, because i have a lot against him. but my question is this, is the link i gave you up to date, and because i am 16, do i qualify for these rights? what can i do and can i get paid more for the hassle?

"Contact the ontario employment standards board at the link below and report (on monday morning..."

Your link doesn't work for me. First, calm down. Getting worked up is not going to help you with this. Second, contact the Ontario Employment Standards Board at the link below and report (on Monday morning) that your former employer has not paid you for the hours you worked. Tell them that you attended your former workplace (at your own expense) on the normal payday and that your cheque was with held. Tell them that you were unable to get any commitment as to when that cheque would be ready, and that you are getting the run around. Third - Contact your former employer by telephone and advise him that you have filed a complaint with the labour board, that he failed to have your paycheque ready on the prescribed date, and that you expect him to courier the cheque to you at his expense at your residence as you have already attended the workplace and he didn't have the cheque ready at that time. Fourth - If you need the money quickly be ready to cave in on the courier thing, but this should motivate him/her to cooperate. Talk to the employment standards people about the other "offences", odds are nothing will come of it, but at least they will be able to give you a realistic appraisal of the situation. Lastly, don't use the phrase "I want to get him in as much trouble as I can", it ruins your credibility as it seems you are out for revenge, rather than justice. http://www.labour.gov.on.ca/english/es/

    • My ex refuses to work california

    Q. So i recently got fired (ontario canada) and my boss has yet to pay me?

"Pay for only the hours that you work..."

Yes, that document is current (as seen by the "last amended" date) and it applies to all employees of any age. No, you are not entitled to be paid more for the hassle - you are entitled to pay for only the hours that you work . But if you haven't stumbled across it yet I'll point out that you should also get your 4% vacation pay, regardless of how long you've worked there (you should confirm this yourself, it's been a couple of years since I've had to know the labour laws but I doubt they've changed). Realistically though, it's not worth it.

    Q. What will it take for cas to help us?

    Powered by
I live in windsor ontario. in august my brother in law called in a panic. telling us him and his wife split and he needed help with babysitting. i never liked my brother in law or his wife and my husband and i had barely kept contact with them because they are drug users and just not the kid of people we want to be around regardless if they were family or not. my brother in law came with the boys, he blamed his wife for everything... the drug use, claiming that she had abused the boys both physically and mentally and that the boys had been neglected very badly. my brother in law said that because he worked so many hours at work that he never noticed the abuse. my husband and i discussed further and for the boys sake we got a bigger house right away so that i can quit my job to be with the boys. try to get them stable again, get their behaviour under control. since we moved in together we have seen that, their mother had done all those things he said the boys talk about it frequently. my husband and i also noticed that his brother neglects the boys really badly. we see it every day and the youngest even shows signs of sexual abuse. he never says anything bad happened to him but i have been doing a lot of reading and the actions this 4 year old takes tward sexual things shows that there very well could have been sexual abuse. a cas worker was called out to the house right as we were going to call them ourselves.... i told the cas worker a lot and during the weekend e mailed him explainging instances that i recorded in my journal. it was a cry for help because my husband and i don't know what to do for the boys we know they need counsilling among structured enviroment which we give them... but my brother in law steps in very little and when he does he will take the boys out all night and then bring them home and i have to start all over again. my husband and i have gotten everything the boys needed because when we asked my brother in law to provide the boys with bed sheets and pillows he didn't when we asked him to provide at least money for clothing they needed... he wouldn't... we've payed for all their school functions so far and i do their homework with them every night. the 9 year old didn't even know how to bathe him self.... i had to show him how and when asked how often he got a bath or shower before living with us.... he said hew would be lucky to get a bath or shower once or twice a year..... the 9 year old could not read at all hwen he first came... now i read with him every night.,,, the other day 60 bucks was stolen out of my purse all my brother in laws behaviour points to using drugs still --- yet trust me he can pass a pee test... and now he is stealing from my home... on friday we are asking him to leave. the cas worker came last friday and i haven't herd nothing since we were hoping he would at least get the boys in our temporary custody... now when i ask my brother in law to leave the house he will take the boys with him and they will be so doomed its not even funny.... is cas known to work this slow??? why haven't we herd anything??? should i call the cas worker, i don't want to seem like i am bugging him!!! i know i am going to need to call the cas worker to tell him money got stolen from my purse and the only people in the house the past 3 days has been me my husband the brother in law and the brother in laws g.f... by the was she is bi polar and i also worry about her capacity to even be around these children... my husband and i don't want to give up on my brother in law but he needs serious help and refuses to get it by claiming that we are crazy and he is fine. my sol concern right now is saving my nephews.. i'm soo afraid when my brother in law leaves this weekend he is going to take the boys and cas will never catch up with him... and we will never see them again till we either get a call that they are in jail or dead... i know this is long people but please any advice on what to do.. anything at this point im willing to listen to... please i'm screaming for help at the top of my lungs and i can't beleive cas hasn't been back to do anything.,.. my husband says its because the cas worker knows the boys are safe in our care for right now so he is helping other families who's children are in harm now... can this be true? i've known people to lose their children over far less.... yet we haven't herd back from cas....

"Cas does work that slow and as annabelle..."

I will answer the question but have one of my own re: CAS's eventual assessment of this home for the children. Just asking here: Doesn't anyone here see a problem with the brother-in-law (still married, drug user) and his girlfriend (bipolar) and already deemed neglectful...BEING IN THE HOUSE? Wouldn't that show the OP's poor judgement in keeping a safe environment for the kids? Just asking here...not judging the predicament this person is obviously in. As for the question: Yes, CAS does work that slow and as AnnaBelle, who knows WAY more than me on this, said, they are in a generally safe place so CAS has it on back burner status. I don't doubt your intentions by the way...most of us are over 16 and try to see all sides. And I can't imagine the spot you're forced to be in by a jerk who basically holds his kids up for ransom for a place to stay and steal from. Perhaps you can limit their contact by making it "sweet" for his lifestyle. I am NOT against first parents being in their children's lives...even if it means sharing parenting with someone else like this...but this kind of person is not what I call a parent. I call them a parasite and there is a big difference. Good luck to you...keep calling and I think calling a family law attorney might be a good idea here so that perhaps you can find a legal way to keep this destructive, potentially abusive man from those children.

    Q. Why can't i satisfy these people?

    Powered by
My wife and i just moved out of a co-op complex in mississauga, ontario. our children were being racially targeted and my wife had 'dealings' with some of the younger people which escalated to their parents. these kids would block our driveway and refuse to move for her. to alleviate this we both joined the co-op board so that we could work with our neighbours. we were constantly blocked at every attempt to help to help bring our diverse community together. it was a co-op, after-all. i was walking my kids one night and a resident was overheard to say that "a bullet was too good for a white man". we decided it was time to get out when i came home to find my wife trapped in the garage by a group of teenagers. now, here's the kicker. we are wasps; and the instigators were jamaican! our friends in the complex were mostly of mid-eastern or african immigrants but we could not break down the barriers with the jamaican contingent. so where did we go wrong? why would they not accept us? siva - as stated in the question, we have moved.

    mob mentality never makes sense!

    Q. Is the following considered wrongful dismissal? (canadian law)?

    Powered by
Hello, i was just recently hired/fired as a marketing manager for a car dealership in toronto, ontario, canada. after agreeing to a payment plan which was part hourly and part commission, i had sent out over 5000 ads for them. after sending out such ads i was immediately brought in for a meeting where they had attempted to force me to renegotiate our contract so that my pay is 100% commision without a base. as our arrangement was already agreed upon, and covered under a signed contract, i refused to renegotiate and was fired two days afterwards during the long weekend. during my employment with this company i had taken on many roles that were well above and beyond what was stipulated within our contract and i have not received any form of compensation for such work. the worst part is that this final attempt to readjust my pay was actually their 3rd attempt within my short stay, and i was verbally harrassed by the owner`s wife throughout the duration of my employment. ideally i would like to be compensated for the commission i was shorted due to their choice to dismiss me prior to allowing an ample amount of time to allow the ads to do their job, which is contrary to our contract. please note that i do have a copy of my contract, as well as a saved message from the owner's wife which details the fact that i am being let go so they may find someone to work on 100% commission. i would like to be compensated for 5-10% of the ads at the agreed commission but i am unsure of whether this is a feasible amount to ask for? or is i even have a case at all? also note that there is nothing within my contract which stipulates my probationary period so i cannot see how the ideal 3 month period would apply under these circumstances. any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks! *edit* in reply to answer 1: obviously i would require a canadian lawyer or paralegal to proceed with this case but i thought it was best to get a few opinions prior to investing a large sum of money into something that might not have any promise at all. in reply to answer 2: please note that i am not concerned with whether the probationary period had expired or not, and i have already verified with a paralegal that there is no such thing as a standard probationary period to begin with. from what was explained the probationary period must be stated within the employment agreement/contract for it to be valid. second, when a company hires you stating that you will be paid commission based on the replies of your ads, then fires you after sending such ads out without giving you any time to receive replies in return, i would assume that would constitute fraud, as i was blatantly hired under false pretenses. afaik it is also illegal to lower an individuals pay after an agreement has been

A 3 month probationary period is standard, you will never convince a labour board judge that a shorter period is justified. You may be entitled to a very small amount for the sudden departure, but you will not be awarded anything for 'lost comissions', since those would be entirely supposition.

No i am not obsessed with murder stories today, it's just that they seem to be the most interesting on this website lately: http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americ as/4372248/ex-playboy-bunny-convict ed-of-murder-dies the prison escape of former playboy club bunny and milwaukee police officer laurie "bambi" bembenek popularised the phrase "run bambi run" and seemed tailor-made for the tv movie it inspired. but despite the fame garnered by her flight, bembenek died having spent more than two decades insisting on her innocence but never fully clearing her name. her attorney said on sunday that effort will continue. the 52-year-old died on saturday of liver failure at a hospice care centre in portland, oregon, said her longtime attorney, mary woehrer. bembenek worked briefly as a playboy club waitress in lake geneva before becoming a police officer in milwaukee, where she married detective fred schultz. bembenek was convicted in 1982 of fatally shooting his ex-wife, christine schultz, after allegedly complaining about the alimony he had to pay. bembenek was sentenced to life in prison but maintained her innocence. in 1990, she escaped taycheedah correctional institution in fond du lac and fled to canada with then-fiance dominic gugliatto, the brother of another inmate. in milwaukee, more than 200 supporters - many wearing "run bambi run" t-shirts - rallied to show support for her flight from the law. bembenek and gugliatto were captured in thunder bay, ontario, about three months later after the case was publicized on the tv show america's most wanted. bembenek fought extradition for a time but willingly returned to wisconsin in 1992. a judge said that "significant mistakes" had been made in the probe of christine schultz's death, and bembenek soon struck a deal with prosecutors in which her conviction was set aside. she pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and received 10 years of probation. bembenek moved to washington state in the late 1990s to live with her parents. her story was made into a book and a 1993 tv movie starring tatum o'neal, woman on trial: the lawrencia bembenek story. in 2002, after completing her parole, bembenek filed a motion seeking testing for genetic material in the case in the hope of clearing her name. later that year, she seriously injured her foot while apparently trying to escape out a hotel window before an appearance on the television talk show dr phil, which had agreed to pay for some of the dna testing. her attorney said restrictions placed on bembenek were excessive and triggered memories of her imprisonment. the injuries forced bembenek to have her right foot amputated a few weeks later. a wisconsin appeals court in 2006 refused to let bembenek appeal her murder conviction. more recently, she had been petitioning the office of outgoing wisconsin governor jim doyle to pardon her, although last week a doyle spokesman said bembenek's most recent application was incomplete. woehrer said on sunday that bembenek's family would continue to seek a pardon from doyle.

Gives me an idea for a t-shirt. Run Bambi, Run!..... Her face with eyes the size of saucers in the headlights of an approaching car...
