    Q. I am a canadian senior citizen, and cancelled my rental water heater services with my existing energy provider because i converted to gas from oil hea?


    Maybe. Depends what the contract says. If the rental unit was returned and services were no longer required because of a substantial overhaul or conversion of your energy system, the contractor cannot place a lien unless it can be proven that the water heater provided by him was necessary for the conversion. But if they do not deal with gas conversion then the contractor has no leg to stand on in this case.
