    Q. What happens if you have sold a home with a home equity line of credit?

what happens if you buy a house firm but don`t yet sell the old one
MortgageEnder said: (Ontario Canada) If you don't have a firm offer for the old home, you will end up with 2 mortgages. The equity on the first one is substantial, I would guess, as the lenders would not qualify you on the new one without the firm purchase and sale agreement on the old one. It will be a dilemma if you do not have a mortgage on the new and you have a firm commitment on it without the firm offer from the old. You can momentarily lease the old to get income or additional funds to pay the mortgage momentarily.

    This answer closely relates to:
    • Rbc homeline repayment when buy a new house

    Q. I no longer live in canada. do i need to file a tax return?

    Powered by
I moved to the us in 1999. i did not file a tax return for the year previous. i have a credit card with the rbc and some rrsps, but no other ties other than family. am i considered to be a non-resident given these facts? i should add, i hold dual citizenship with both us and canada.

"You are likely considered a non-resident of canada..."

You are likely considered a Non-resident of Canada. You only need to declare Canada-sourced income to Canada.

    Q. Canadian credit card debt. missed 6 payments. sent to collections ..?

    Powered by
I have $9000 in credit cards and $1300 in overdraft debt that needs to be paid.. i've been sent to collections on it. i havent paid it due to the fact that i moved to the uk and hvent been making money.. i now am, and am able to pay $400 a month.. $200 to each visa.. and once july comes i can pay $400-500 each per month as i'm moving home and will be getting a sturdy paycheck again. once they're paid off, how long will it take to get my credit score out of the negaitves? also, can i just pay td and rbc instead of the collections agencys? or can i arrange the agency to take a set amount of my account.. to pay both debts, or would it be seperate payments for each? i used to work in collections, but we dealt with parking& speedingtickets, and library debt and things like that.. never credit cards..

"Contact the collection agencies and try to negotiate a settlement with them..."

TD & RBC have sold your debt to a collection agency. If you pay directly to them, the payment will not be credited to your account because you no longer have accounts there. You must pay the collection agencies and the costs will be steep due to their added fees and interest. There are different collection agencies for each former account, therefore you will have to pay each agency separately. Contact the collection agencies and try to negotiate a settlement with them. This will save you some money and get this paid off faster. You can also negotiate that they will rate the account "Paid as Agreed" -- it's still a collection account, but "Paid as Agreed" does less harm to your credit rating than any other rating. Accounts are listed on your credit report for 7 years after they are paid off.

    This answer closely relates to:
    • Pay rbc instead of global collection agency
      • How long do your collection file stay in collection agencies in canada?
      • Can i file student loan interest if paid to a collection agency?
    • Rbc collection agency
      • How long can a bad debt be sold to a collection agency manitoba?
      • Can collection agencies add interest?
    • Rbc sells bad debt to collection
      • How long do collection agencies have to collect a debt in ontario canada?
      • Does a credit card company collect the insurance money on unpaid debt and sell the debt to collection agency who collects a debt thats already been p?
