ON Canada, I have dealt with a client in the past when we did not close the renewal / refinance of a home mortgage as we found out during title search that CRA placed a substantial amount in lien against the property. Answer is yes, CRA can place a lien on the property if your husband is on title. Hope this helps. It also is a good exercise to have your title checked to see if there are lien holders on the property prior to refinancing or renewing your mortgage.
