    Q. Why does capital one move the payment date around so much?

    Powered by
I set up automatic payments but capital one kept moving the payment date around. why do they do this and should i be penalized for it?

So you will miss your payments and they can hit you with late penalties. They are notorious for this and this is only one of the many reasons why they are one of the worst cards you can carry.

    Q. What is the rational for chase credit cards to move up payment dates?

    Powered by
I think i know the answer, does the word ( gotcha) give on time payers a clue, who do not read the notes attached to their statments? and just pay their bill on the original date.

The reason that due dates can change are two fold. One there aren't 30 days in every month and thus due dates can vary by a couple of days. When you have a long month followed by a short month or vice versa - this can affect billing cycles. Second, credit card companies do change their business procedures as far as how they assess a billing cycle. If your account terms advise they give you AT LEAST x-days between your statement date and due date - then they can make changes within that realm. Ultimately if they provide you either an electronic or paper statement the due date does not have to be fixed. The automatic payment option for at least the minimum payment is a great suggestion.

    Q. Is making a 2nd payment on the principal a wise move?

    Powered by
What is the better financial move make a 2nd payment of ?385 a month on my truck and apply it to the principal only or put ?385.00 in the bank in savings and if i did how much would that shorten my bank loan on my truck.. i currently have a 6% interest rate on 5 years.

Make the extra payment. There aren't any savings accounts making 6%. Making one extra payment a month would have you paying the car off in 2 years and 4 months.

    Q. Being evicted due to non-payment of rent in la. can arrangements be made to pay balance after i move out?

    Powered by
I am moving out before court day and have turned in my keys. i do want to pay the past due rent. do i still have to go to court even though i moved out? also, can payment arrangements be made?

You have to talk to the manager of the apartment complex. They probobly don't want to waist the money in going to court. I'm sure it will be fine. If the court date is set...then yes you do have to go to court unless told otherwise. They should have given you a 5 day warning before they filed a court lawsuit...If not then you have something to argue against them.

    Q. What if i move before i receive my stimulus payment from the irs?

    Powered by
Since the last two digits of my ssn are between 64 and 75 according to the irs payment schedule my check will be mailed by 6/27 however i will be moving before 6/30 and i did not select the direct deposit option for my 2007 income tax refund..therefore it will be sent through mail :(...any tax expert advice will be greatly appreciated! **i already filed in february**

Here is the same question on the IRS website FAQ's Q. I have moved since filing my 2007 tax return. How will my payment reach me? A. You should file a Form 8822 with the IRS and a change of address notice with the U.S. Postal Service. This will ensure your check is sent to your new address. Without your current address, the check could be returned to the IRS as undeliverable.

    Q. Do you have to pay property taxes twice in one year if you move? 1 payment for the old home & 1 for the new?

    Powered by
Or do the new owners of the old home take over that year's property tax for you?

Property taxes are pro-rated. For example if you close on June 30th, you would owe for half the taxes and it shows up as a credit to the buyer on the closing statement. That's because the tax bill will go to the new owner. realtor.sailor

    Q. Is a payment protection plan a good move?

    Powered by
I'm about to be unemployed very soon, getting out of the military & afraid i will have no income to pay my 2 credit card bills. of course i'm looking for a job but can't rely that someone will hire me within the next 2 weeks. so, i added on the payment protection plan for both cards. it's an extra $37/per month on top of the balance. i feel like i'm adding more balance to my visa, but isn't it a smart move to add that protection in case i can't pay? i have good credit & not trying to ruin it. will this protection plan affect my credit? help!

This is the only time that I've ever heard of anyone actually good use out of this scam. As long as all the fine print says that you can do it, and you don't have to wait like 30 days to have it kick in, then maybe it's a good move. If you think that you may be not getting a job in more than thirty days, then which is more, the $37 per month, or the monthly payment and accumulated interest? Read the fine print carefully and slowly.
