I am not sure why there is so much confusion on what dates the cheques come out. I know that I receive my cheque on the 1st of every month for that month. So for November 1st the cheque is for November. The December 1st cheque is for December. Most landlords want their rent on the 1st of every month. I realize that for January 2012 the cheque will be issued before that date as the 1st is a holiday. I have never received a cheque at the end of the month for the next month. It is always on the 1st that my monies are deposited. I know that the exception to this rule applies when the 1st falls on a holiday. But maybe each city/or area may do things differently but where I live the cheques are on the 1st of every month and it is for the month it is issued. Dec 1st for Dec, Nov1st for Nov... and so on. I know that in my area they DO NOT give you monies before the 1st of the following month. I notice that someone said "get your fax straight" it is actually FACTS not fax and the cheque actually comes out on the 1st for that month... they do not pay you in advance. If wherever you are from they deposit or issue you a cheque before the end of the month it may be due to high volumes of recipients that they have to issue a day or two before the end of the month to ensure all monies are issued on time. I think it was rude of someone to say get your facts straight when unless they work for O.W and have an inside scoop on the process of distributing the monies it is what it is and in my area the 1st is the day every month and nothing changes unless a holiday falls on the 1st

"Someone said: You get paid at the END of the month for a month...eg: November payment will be issued at the end of November. While I do realize the December payment comes before Christmas, the payment you will receive is for the month of December." Whoever wrote this either mistyped the months or is ignorant of the ontario works program, the check you get at the end of the month is to cover your rent and/or expenses for the NEXT month. eg. The check at the end of November is for your rent, bills and food for DECEMBER,
